ASSASSIN Venom Suggestion

Can we bump the duration to 4 seconds while keeping the same dps.

Right now theoretically the dps is high but because the duration is so low unless you constantly reapply it it actually does pathetic damage. Since it’s primarily delivered by melee attacks, the dps is actually much lower in practice since melee attacks miss. It would much better if the duration was longer while keeping the same dps so you’re not punished for needing AR. It still wouldn’t compare to something like poison nova which has even higher dps, a larger spread and never misses, but this change would make something like the wwsin more viable in pvm since they suffers from both low AR and low damage.

That’s a 96% DPS nerf from 0.4s to 10s. Nobody wants a nerf now.

You would keep DPS, you would scale damage with increased duration. Not a bad idea i think. Venom isn’t super strong anyway.

right now venom acts for poison as the other elemental damage added to weapons do.
its effectively a “flat poison” damage rather than a “damage over time”

not only does venom cap at .4 second… it also forces OTHER sources to cap at .4.

venom is already one of the best assassin skills.

what you are asking for… is absolutely absurd…

you want to keep the damage ratio and then just add 9.6 more seconds

that means a lvl 20 venom would deal 11k damage over 10 seconds

and u want to just “add that to every auto attack”

Not compared to skills like poison nova that can do the same dps over 2 seconds with lower resist to boot and massive aoe. Right now at .4 seconds the dmg is really negligible compared to other sources of elemental damage. It’s mostly a single target skill that does 11k poison over 10 seconds to 1 target really isn’t that much when you can spam multiple 25k fireballs per second. Even 4.4K over 4 seconds would be way better than right now. One of the “best” assassin skills doesn’t really hold a candle something like poison nova should really say something about the state of assassins. The only competitive skill tree on them is really just the trap tree. MA sins still needs good a boost to get there.

Blade fury is strong because of the absurd physical damage, your target would be dead to that before the poison runs its course. It’s a single target damage skill that requires AR at it’s core so when compared to skills like fireball is it really that powerful? I think maybe a 3/4 damage penalty could be added to venom on blade fury could be added if you’re really worried about it being op. As for the MA skills and WWsin this is a much needed boost to underpowered builds.

As i said, i am no assa expert. Numbers dont look się powerful but it is only lv20 venom not a whole poison build like nova. I would love to have seperate ballance for pvp, things would be easier for everyone.

Poison nova would actually do double the dps as venom at higher levels due to the synergies. If you’re worried about pvp I think a 4 second duration is a happy middle ground that’s works for both pvp and pvm. Right now with the fhr changes, assassins are at a bad place. The can’t keep people locked long enough now to keep on reapplying the damage, you might get lucky and clip them once before they escape. So I think a 4 second duration is fair for the current state of fhr.
