I have been really digging the idea of a blade sin, and the updates D2:R brought with next hit delay (NHD) were outstanding.
I raise this thread for one simple reason: The Assassin can lay down all of her traps as fast as she can based on the breakpoints you have reached, except Blade Sentinel. This trap has a 1 second cooldown. Why? If I am playing with a blade sin, this is one of your bread and butter skills, and your source of AOE (outside of having to put points to death sentry) but you have to spend 5 seconds laying them down. That’s kind of insane!
They should be treaded the same as all the other sentry type traps with IAS. Anyone agree?
How I see trapsin upcoming changes:
- all traps are capped to 3 per type, but all traps possible to cast at the same time.
*Note: trapper is badicaly Lightilning Sentry and rarely Death Sentry so idea is to limit all traps to 3 and allowing to cast all type traps at the same time, now all traps are usefull as intended.
- Wake of Fire: Fire Blast and Wake of Infolerno seynegies are increased from 10% to 20%.
*Note: WoF got too low dmg from syn to be viable on Hell, also Fire dmg is trash in near all locations, thats why all Trap based builds are lightning.
- Wake of Inferno: FB and WoF synergies increased from 18% to 32%.
*Note: the same as WoF, see above.
Appreciate the reply, but this thread is specifically on: Why is there a cooldown for Blade Sentinel when all other traps have none? It makes zero sense to me! There should not be a cooldown at all on Blade Sentinel.
However, some trap updates could be useful, but seems most the community is more concerned about the martial arts stuff going on with Mosaic. Which, I think the idea there is cool, but should be a mechanic you can achieve without needing those claws. I think skill investment in claw mastery should be part of the equation.
I don’t know how I feel about only 3 traps maximum being placed. Sometimes it’s nice to help cover you if enemies are flanking you from a different area of the screen.
3 traps per type from 5 from all types means: 3cbs 3ls 3ds 3wof 3woi all 12 at the same time instead of 5.

Still want the cooldown for blade sentinel to be removed entirely. This totally gimps bladesins or physical trap pretty bad.
Blade Sentical has a 1 second NHD anyways…it doesn’t really hurt that much

+1. Unless you remove the NHD, there’s really no reason to remove the cooldown on it.
NHD is on a per cast basis now (each Sentinel has its own individual NHD) so there would be tangible benefit to removing the casting delay. Even if NHD were the same it’d still allow encompassing a wider area quicker.
