Hello beautiful people, this is such a wonderful community and very informative forum group. I was wondering what kinds of ideas you’d have on this subject. I’m a Assassin playing on Solo in hell or I just got to hell act one after some bad bugs and struggling to progress due to traps causing game crashes through Normal and nightmare. But I made it to hell, now I’m a lightening build currently which I love but I’m having issues as everything seems to be immune to Lightening, I’m thinking I’ll need a secondary skill to add onto my skill tree… The issue in facing is what skill do I rack up that would even be as close to the damage output as a trap? Now I’m level 70, the biggest issues I have is leveling, I figure I can get in another 11-16 skills out of her… All my characters run solo and they all max out around level 80…for the life of me I just can’t get past the 80 mark as exp is too slow, or I die too many times which decreases exp or I play on a higher difficulty and it turns out to be to hard… But my gear is end game gear and my resistances are above 60 on most cases besides posion. My highest character out of the 6 I currently have is my Druid at level 89.anyways I have limited skill point opportunities at the moment… I have two respects left if things get too desperate and I have to re-spect, but if I can get another skill to help pick up the slack I’d rather do that. I have gear that gives me 7 extra skill points ontop of my 20 skill cap, I don’t know anything about breaking res on monsters and I have to say my characters aren’t good enough for a uber for a torch and that one charm everyone has that looks like mephistos stone. Any ideas on a substitute skill I could use for the monsters that lightening won’t work on? And oh God… What about Baal? Is he lightening res?
Sounds like your best bet is to add some points into dragon talon and get some myrmidon boots. It’s 5 fast kicks with physical damage that will trigger your “chance on attack” and “chance on strike”. Best part for you is it’s a standalone skill that doesn’t require a ton of points to get a body on the ground for death sentry to corpse explode. Damage is based on boots worn. Added points increase damage and kick attack rating drastically. Also, kicking does allow mana/life steal.
As far as “breaking” immunities, you could use a lower resist wand with charges or make infinity. Even with those, some monsters will retain their immunities.
I use Fireblast, it’s pretty strong at max capacity, and it buffs your Death Sentry. I always start Hell with 20 points into Fireblast now. Other than that, pull immune mobs into packs of non immune mobs and nuke them with corpse explosion.
It’s a very good idea to use fireblast.
Ramp up your cast speed, those should be flying out in a stream.
So crystal sword made into 4 socket turned into spirit rune word. Farm out a monarch sheild and do the same. You can get the sheild from the two crypts left and right of Blood Raven Act1 Hell. No magic find. Kill everything. You will find it.
I used the treachery rune word for armor but that was because I had the runes. Kinda iffy if you might have them. Skill charms are a +. Lore runeword for the helmet.
Magic amulets from nightmare difficulty on can be very usefull skill amulets. Even if they are just +trap and magic find.
I crammed every resist and magic find charm I could and ran with my cube in the inventory for storage (potions/found items).
Soloing with the trapsin was the easiest solo I did. Fastest too.
you are Lightning sentry , but Death sentry aint lightning , it explode corpse around , i suggest to max death sentry instead of lightning , and to get max of the skill where u spawn a shadow warrior or whatever it called. so he make corpse for you , and 1 death sentry is enough to start killing alot. also that level 6 fire trap wake of inferno i think it called , is very deadly , so max death sentry , few in lightning few in wake of inferno and rest in shadow warrior and i believe u can solo hell ball/ Cow easily
Stimpackator have you actually solo’d hell?
You’re giving some strange advice, that in my opinion weakens the build by spreading out too much power.
Death Sentry does indeed explode corpses and it does 5 massively good things.
- The explosion damage is a % of the corpses life. Meaning it is highly effective as monster health increases late game.
- A corpse explosion is Fire damage which is needed to kill monsters immune to lighting.
- It has a clue if you look. Fire Blast increases the number of shots (Corpse Explosions) The trap does. Meaning it is designed to work with Fire Blast in your build.
- When you explode a corpse it cannot be revived or exploded by monsters to hurt you.
- Death sentry provides 12% damage per point synergy to Lightning Sentry. It also provides 9% damage per point synergy to Fire Blast.
WoF and WoI are thinning out your power.
Wake of Fire is very good in the early game but in a lighting build it’s a waste.
- It provides no synergy to Lightning Trap.
- It provides no synergy to Death Sentry.
- Wake of fire is 1 Synergy skill for Fire Blast out of 6. Meaning Fire Blast (Super usefull skill) can be buffed more effectively by Charged Bolt Sentry, Lightning Sentry, Death Sentry and a little bit more by Shock Web.
Wake of Inferno is a waste in a lightning build.
- You already have 2 very effective fire skills with Death Sentry and Fire Blast. Focus on efficiently buffing them .
- Wake of Inferno is only buffed from our (Lightning Skill Path) by Death Sentry.
This delutes power away again from the Trapsin build in my opinion.
- It is better for utility to use Burst of Speed for moving very fast out of harms way.
- It is better to have Cloak of Shadows which can do 2 very important things.
- It Blinds ranged attackers giving you protection from “Nuking”.
- It raises your defense (safety) and lowers enemy defense (increases Mercs hit chance).
Those skills are way more usefull than a squishy Shadow Warrior.
This is a lot I know but you gotta be sure you’re giving some solid advice when you talk about builds. There are only so many resets for him to use before his character is boned beyond repair. [There is an extremely expensive way to get another reset]
It’s why I don’t give a ton of build advice. Just a good tip here and there to help a specific issue.
I stopped playing trap assassin. Playing past nightmare is a joke. Sorc just does it better with masteries anyway.
Try to get about 17 points into Shadow Master, it’s a very good tank and it can kill some stuff, don’t use Shadow Warrior, it’s weak AF and will die quickly in Hell.
You can not solo Hell with fire traps, I’ve tried it. Not because of immunities, but fire traps, except Fireblast, are too weak.
