How do you deal with the frost immune enemies that are required for quest progression? I guess this is the first time hitting a wall like this, like Den of Evil.
I mean I can melee them to death but I know I’m missing something here. My merc gets one shot by everything so he seems unreliable.
3 options:
1: be dual elements. Frozen orb and firewall are the most likely candidates for this. But you do less dmg than a pure blizz sorc.
2: Max cold mastery, not just to -100, but the full 20 points and addes + all skills. This enables you to break immunities at least in the early acts of hell difficulty. You wont deel a whole lot of damage, but you will damage them. (this might be patched in the future as it is unknown if this is intended)
3: buff up that merc. Stone runeword armor, elite pike, some lifesteal, not lagging in level, and he should do totally fine.

So good news is that Den of Evil is optional. You can skip it for now. Ways to take this on later would be to spec into another element too like firewall for example. I personally couldn’t get through hell on one elemental damage type as a sorc. You can always spec out later on. The other option is what you mentioned: You can over-gear your merc and take on the Den of Evil that way. Personally, I would just leave it until you are a higher level with more tricks at your disposal.
