Arreat Summit Database replacement?

With the addition of new runewords, and alterations to mercenaries, and other skill/game play tweaks, has blizzard said anything about updating Arreat Summit or some other variant?

I have looked around and read through announcements and on Arreat Summits page and haven’t seen any confirmation one way or the other from blizz on the topic.

The Arreat Summit webpage needs a complete overhaul. Let’s modernize it. Hopefully Blizzard can add cool exclusive in game video clips to support the information in it in cool ways

I dont think blizz runs that site

Yes, Blizz does. It was maintained by Nebu, who I believe was recently let go from Blizzard as part of the harassment shenanigans.

The Arreat Summit is maintained by the Blizzard Headquarters Web Team:

GFraizer(Nebu) - News/Content/All Non Graphic/Layout Updates
MHein(IndoFlaven), TPark(Warblade) - Graphics/Layout/HTML
Blizzard North: Peter Hu - Gameplay Information/Formulae/etc
Blizzard North: BRoper(Doomhammer) - Story

I agree. Going forward it will be quite annoying checking which info is based on which patch.

I love arreat summit and it’s design and so on.

However it’s a clear web 1.0 site. I don’t think it’s viable to “update” it. Better to keep Arreat Summit as a KB for 1.14, and make a new website for Resurrected

All they would have to do is just make notations just like they did for later items like andy saying what version they are available in.

if you think about it for another half a second, you would understand that it is not “all” that they’d have to do (D2R patches do more than just adding runewords)

and it’s besides the main point of Arreat Summit being a web 1.0 site without a content management system.

I’m finding that the Arrest Summit website often stalls when trying to load pages, I’m supportive of a new site that has content about D2R specifically and helps the newer members out in particular.

Nah, several new D2 websites do a much better job. Let the community take care of that so Blizzard can focus on improving D2R.

I agree with this. Keep Arreat as is, for those who still play the vanilla game.
