Making Treachery for my A2 Merc. Should I uses a low def base armor or a high one? I have a 470 Wire Fleece and a 522 Kraken Shell. Also, a friend offered me a 612 def eth armor. Low def should be better chance to proc Fade. OTOH, it’s a greater chance my merc will die (a horrible, horrible death!)
Non-eth armor means I could use it on character later if I want to.
Defense is very overrated in PvM so any base works yo high or low def. Save your good 3 soc non eth bases for Enigma.
I would put it in the wire fleece, nobody is gonna put enigma in that, i think it’s a light armor and then you can even resell it to a smiter if u want to or something. I think there is a fwr penalty with kraken shell, not worth 50 defense.
I made one in a Mage Plate. My merc kills all the cold immune and hardly ever die.
Medium armor applies 50% faster stamina drain and 5% slower run/walk.
So yes, 50 armor is not really worth the difference, but at the same time the speed difference is not a big deal either. I doubt anyone would really even notice it, especially on a merc.
Thanks for the input, I could make it in the Wire Fleece, use it on my Merc for now and if I build a Smiter, he can use it.
Mines in mage plate. It doesn’t rly matter much for merc though fade proc will do 90% of the survivability work. Just my humble opinion.
Treachery can be worn at level 43 so it would be better if you can make in an armor with level 43 or lower requirements so you can use it right away.
Did you find those bases in nightmare or hell? If its hell Im screwed, I am not getting very far with my lightning trapper in act1. Best Ive found is a 251 sharktooth armor. I’m trying to atleast keep him alive.
If you are struggling to transition onto hell difficulty. Then dont be afraid to ask for help. If you join a game and ask politely a lot of players will give you some midlevel gear for free. Most players have anextra armor base or two a few mid tier rings or amulets and some filler g loves and boots. If you are new to the game and need help a lot of players are just glad to have the free stash space without visiying charsey. Just remember to pay it forward when you reach the top
