Armageddon requirement

Changes to fire druid look awesome (maybe add even more damage to make it viable). Important point for now, please remove the requirement to have to put points into wind to get to Armageddon (it would make sense for them to be connected if synergies would apply) . Also if we are to switch basically between 4 spell to do damage then lower the mana costs or the whole gameplay will be a chore. Lot of casual play this game that dont have access to high level runs or equipment so it need to work through the whole game.

I was thinking about this as well. Fire druids are already strained for skill points. Removing the 5 points required on the wind side would go a long way.

They really need to change how Armageddon hit to make the skill work, they should keep the animation but change the hit and take the same as hurricane. (Of course modify damage as they see fit with the hitbox change).

Yes, strongly support the removal of Armageddon’s skill requirements in the wind tree…

If you compare a fire druid to a wind druid - A fire druid (utilizing Armageddon) basically has 5 less skill points to invest into more diverse builds…

Fire druids are going to be severely handicapped if they don’t have enough mana regeneration…

A fire druid really has very few BiS equipment options that add mana regeneration (magefist is normally the go-to option for mana regen, combined with SoJ for increased mana pool)…

This means a fire druid could really benefit from investing a couple points in something like SOLAR CREEPER…

But guess what, fire druid needs to sink 5 skill points into useless wind skills… So their build options are very limited compared to a wind druid… For me it’s one of the most frustrating things as a fire druid…

WazaDave, I personally think fire druid has bigger problems than Armageddon hit box.

Once you get enough +skills you can put 1-pt into oak sage, carrion vine, and summon grizzly… Then once you have Enigma, you can telestomp monster packs…

With a holy freeze merc + reaper’s toll (decrepify) monsters will attack you very, very, very slowly…

You will also have 3,000 to 4,000 HP if you do this, so telestomping is very safe…

Try this, and you should find that Armageddon functions very, very well just the way it is

I think they should give Armageddon synergy to cold damage instead of physical damage if they still need us to spend points into wind side

Then gives hurricane cold+ physical

So you admit there is a problem.

Yeah you said it … (Once) you get… There is a whole journey before that… can we fix a skill from the get go instead of just focusing the end game ?

This is my concern that the ptr testing will focus on end game levels with super loot where of course it will work. The issue will be obvious when leveling from the start. Not enough mana. Also ithink we need more low level items that deal with elementami immunities.

Sprit Monarch, Spirit Crystal Sword, Random +2 druid skill ammy, cheap/crappy druid torch… Those things aren’t very expensive and will give you +9 all skills… That’s all you really need to get an oak sage, carrion vine, and grizzly that’s half-decent in hell…

An non-eth reapers toll will break physical immunes for you and make all physical damage from the Patch 2.4 skills much stronger… That’s only a Pul rune?

Yes, CtA and Enigma will be tougher to get, true… High runes are always hard to farm efficiently with a druid until you have Enigma, but that’s a whole other kettle of worms… And I’d certainly strongly encourage the devs to add more mid-tier rune words that grant mobility bonuses to bridge the gap between having Enigma and not having Enigma…

I think if the community encourages the Devs to add more items/runewords that grant players more options for mobility, the devs will listen…

I already posted a bunch of ideas on this here:

The New Runewords - Observations - PTR Feedback - Diablo 2 Resurrected Forums (blizzard.com)

Yes, this would be excellent…

The Reaper’s toll is an awesome, cheap weapon to deal with physical immunes and make them weaker…

Why don’t the Dev copy the concept of Reaper’s toll and make a runeword designed for elemental builds? Something that procs a low-level Lower Resist curse on striking?

Obviously much weaker than Infinity, but still an option…

But to be honest, with the massive increases to Druid fire skill physical damage, Reaper’s Toll is easily going to be the BiS merc weapon for a very long time… You might not even need infinity on a fire druid in the end-game any more with these balance changes? It’s going to be waaaaay easier to create a druid at the start of a ladder and be successful…

The hardest thing you’ll need to farm for will be Enigma (and maybe, HotO, SoJ, Arach, Maras, and Anni, but these are all relatively minor, build optimization things)…
