They have only added the new runewords on the PTR. The patch notes as well as the additional content and bug fixing will come when the patch goes live to the main servers.
"Just for added transparency – To get the PTR up quickly and in-time, we focused on the RWs for this one so we can get feedback and possibly make additional changes post PTR before 2.6 hits.
This required us to strip out things like some of the bug fixes or some features coming in the final 2.6 items that people will see with final patch notes. We do address TZ items, 2.4 Runewords hitting non-ladder, etc."
The new Rune Words are only a portion of the content arriving with Patch 2.6, stay tuned for what else is to come when the Patch officially releases.
That is on the PTR site. According to them there is more content than the rune words.
Yes… It was explained that this extra content and bug fixes beyond the new rune words aren’t on the PTR. Only the rune words are on the PTR. The additional content and bug fixes will come with the official 2.6 patch.
As far as requested changes, that of course depends on what type of change it is.
Moving Cain next to the stash in Act 5 wouldn’t require any PTR testing.
Raising the maximum character count wouldn’t require any PTR testing.
I don’t believe adding a dedicated gem/rune stash tab would require any PTR testing. (I could be wrong though)
However an in-game trading platform would require testing, perhaps even an extended test period especially on a scale much larger than what they are capable of doing in-house.
As far as bug fixing, they typically don’t need testing, as they test the fixes internally as they crunch through them.
Maybe their goal is to surprise us with something good… Save the best for last… But don’t get your hopes up.
I believe those issues were way back when the servers were having problems right after the games release. Likely one of the many reasons they delayed the first ladder for so long.
Well as far as disappearing items, that’s only been reported on the character/personal stash portion, the actual character save file due to the 8192 byte limitation. A dedicated rune/gem stash tab would be part of the separate shared stash file, which so far hasn’t had any reports that I know of for disappearing items.
As far as duping, it’s functionality is literally just another shared tab that is dedicated for only runes and gems.
Same here… Full steam ahead! Hype train a rollin! Choo choo!!!
yeah but stacking it self requires new coding unless we re talking about some sort of recipe that convert x of said currency in one bigger stack and the same way backwards, everything can go wrong
i really hope they are not doing it through cube recipes
I do believe IF they brought a dedicated stash tab for runes and gems, it would work something like this…
As far as “under the hood”, runes/gems would be stored in their own dedicated tab just like they are now. Each rune/gem would be put in its own cell, which allows each rune to retain its unique ID.
As far as the “User Interface”, and this is purely theoretical…
When a “stack” of a specific type of rune or gem is started, the UI simply shows an image of the gem or rune with a # by it. Perhaps the UI shows all rune/gem types greyed out by default, and only the ones that have any stashed are highlighted.
There would be an overall maximum number of runes/gems that you could stash here. I think a maximum of 200 would be enough to store the runes and gems required to keep a crafter busy.
Depositing runes/gems using ctrl+click would automatically deposit them into the shared gem/rune tab if there is room, and if there isn’t room, perhaps it will start stashing them in the first shared tab with available space.
Withdrawing a rune or gem from the tab would be the simple task of clicking on the desired rune or gem, which will transfer one of them to your personal inventory.
On a personal note: I would gladly give up one of the three current shared tabs for this to take its place.
