Are there any mods for loot filtering yet?

As I continue to farm in Hell, I really wish there was a loot filter in D2R. My vision isn’t the best, so not only is this just a good UX feature, I think it’s also an accessibility feature too.

I just wish, at the very minimum, there was a way to turn off arrows, bolts, low-level potions, keys, scrolls, etc. to remove a lot of the clutter that drops. This is actually a real gameplay problem in tight corridors too, because the game will hide loot if you’re not in the same room or corridor, and with so much garbage on the screen, you might actually miss something of importance.

Also, it would be nice to have items you are looking for stand-out more. For example, it would be great to change the size and color of white bases or gems that are really important to me right now. Trying to find “Ruby” so I can cube Gul Runes amongst the mess on the ground is near impossible sometimes.

And while I know some people won’t like this, I wouldn’t mind having an option to show glows of sets and uniques like in Diablo 3 to make them easier to spot as well just in case the loot toggle is turned off by accident (which for some reason, is turned off every time you start a new game, which is incredibly annoying).

Yes, moddb site or nexus is this mod. But… This is ONLY single player. OFFLINE.

Oh no… this needs to be available for online play. This is so crazy that blizzard never put in a loot filter. I am so mad.

The official blizzard forums aren’t the best place to ask for something that breaks the blizzard ToS by the way

Well Blizzard should take this as feedback to add better accessibility and ux into their game… It’s not like this feature is cheating. It’s literally something that should be in the game. Unless you’re making the point that a person who is blind in one eye and is 20/400 in the other eye doesn’t deserve a better experience?

Besides, I thought they were supposed to encourage modding this time around?

You can mod single player to your hearts content, but modding online is against the terms of service. It creates an unfair advantage against those who do not have the loot filter.

Im all for there being an in game “hide arrows/bolts” type option but modifying the game to achieve it can and will get you banned

I’d like a loot filter. Charms being the same color as regular magical items, I did miss a few for sure. The unique blend very well into a pile of white, I probably missed a few without noticed.

If anything, that should of been and option of colorblind mind that they bothered doing…

((Which is not super awesome compared other games that’s been out for a while for a fresh remaster, could have done better blizzard. Learn from your competitor a bit, you know, FF 14 Online? That game who’s killing WoW, learn from it, Blizzard.))

That doesn’t hold water. There are mods in warcraft and anyone can download them. You can argue not having a mod puts you at a disadvantage, but there’s nothing to stop you from going to get it - it’s not like there’s a paywall for these mods.

Regardless, they should add the feature. This is 2021. D2R’s competitors have loot filters, and large % of people interested in D2R are people who played the original 20 years ago who now have much poorer vision than they did back then. It’s a demonstration of not understanding your target audience when you don’t have a loot filter option in a game like this.

Basically all I’m hearing from you is that blind people, while already being at a disadvantage, are not important to cater to and that they should deal with it.

Im sorry you disagree with me, and I generally like to have conversations about things, but this is very cut and dry. Modifying the game can revoke your license. Blizzard has never worried about offline modifications but online modifications can and will hurt their bottom line, so the ToS is enforced.

Here is from the terms and conditions:

hacks; i.e. accessing or modifying the software of the Platform in any manner not expressly authorized by Blizzard;

cheats; i.e. methods not expressly authorized by Blizzard (whether accomplished using hardware, software, a combination thereof, or otherwise), influencing and/or facilitating gameplay, including exploits of any in-game bugs, and thereby granting you and/or any other user an advantage over other players not using such methods;

As I said, Blizzard can take this as feedback to actually add it to their game. It should be in the game. This is not difficult to understand.

it literally is a feature thats cheating. not everyone has it, so it would give you an unfair advantage to looting.
if they implement it as hardcode in the game, i support it, but unless everyone has it, mods have no place in this game. none.

I think WoW is the woooorrrrrrrrrrsssssssssssseeeeeeee example you could think of when it comes to mods. Mods ruined WoW, let’s be real.

Nonsense. Because of my poor vision, I’m already at a disadvantage that I cannot overcome. How does your argument hold any consistency at all? You value one sense of fairness while ignoring another.

dps meters, ilvl, gearscore, and LFG/LFR ruined wow.

if you have poor vision, and everyone gets the filter, you’re going to be at WAY more of a disadvantage than you already are. If everyone can filter out all the trash, you wont stand a chance. at least this way, you have a shot seeing something nobody else notices. this wont help you, it will hurt you.

Having a lower physical ability is not the same as modifying game files to achieve an advantage.

If you want to go with physical abilities being the same as modified files people should be allowed to run bots because they get sleepy and can’t keep playing, or their hand gets cramped.

That’s a strawman. Clearly someone doesn’t understand the distinction between a visual aid and something that plays the game for you. Not to mention, other games like Path of Exile allow loot filters but don’t allow bots. They are not the same thing and you’re just being silly now.

If you’re going to engage in strawmans, then you’re not interested in a conversation, you’re just interested in winning an argument for your ego or whatever.

yes, but thinking it’s going to help you is just ignorant. people are going to eat you alive if people with GOOD vision have NO garbage to sort through on their screen.

You were the one who brought up being able to modify game files because of a physical disadvantage, I was just taking it to its logical conclusion, modifying game files because of a physical disadvantage.

I think the odds that I miss something with a good loot filter compared to someone with better vision would be minimal. It is much worse as it is now.
