I made the level 2 Arctic set into upgraded items and it seems to be really strong with the freezing arrow. Even though the bow only has 50% enhanced damage it destroys Hell no problem. The armor gets 2000 defense too. I thought the Arctic set being level 2 wouldn’t be viable in Hell, but since they added the Set item upgrade recipe and buffed the low level set, it’s really awesome.

I’m currently doing a Frozen Arrow Zon play through with the plan of being a way to use full Mav’s set. I used charms to get Arctic at lvl 2 before going into Den of Evil, and it was super fun. I’m playing with a buddy and we don’t have a lot of overlap time though, so I didn’t get past mid-Act 2 Norm haha. My plan was to just upgrade Arctic when I was high enough level and see how far it would go, good to know it does well fully upgraded!

Ice Zon is very easy but not very fast.
Don’t even need to upgrade the bow. The physical damage is kinda irrelevant, aside from leech which won’t be great either way.
For mana sustain an Insight merc plus mana each kill (e.g. Silkweave) is your best bet.

The leech is actually just fine with the upgraded bow since I use Crescent Moon and Manald Heal
hey there.. Are You by chance leveling an amazon to check out that amazon holybolt build of mine that D22000 recommended to You in a non meta build recomendation thread? i was going to ask if you’ve checked out that build, and what can you say about it,
well I guess you’re in the leveling phase.. anyways that ama holybolt build i’ve crafted is the top character i have regarding attack rating based skills that have what i view as decent clear speed.. rules for moping floor with trash and elites, though not really suitable for baalruns. though baalwaves go down fast enaugh, baal himself takes waay too long.. perhaps swaping out to gface and gores would speed up baal going down, since the holybolts have no effect on him, as they get procced out of him and do not damage him most of the time..
though i’ve had success with lining up baal’s clone in front of baal himself, and those extra holybolts per strafe volley did make a difference. unfortuneatly baal’s clone has very low life pool and doesn’t last for long
