Well apparently people are taking advantage of the server issues and duping a crap ton of SUR’s and flawless amethyst to cube to BER which get a new item id.
One person selling unid infinity’s on “that” website lol… The guy has like 40 BER’s in his stash. Apparently it is only a matter of time before the economy is destroyed just like original d2.
Give it time I’m sure additional non-disruptive methods will be discovered as well…

Well. One guy scammed like 200k worth of their currency today looking at their forum. Lots of angry broke folks over there so… might put a damper on their dupe sales.

“BRO YOU TALK RUBBISH! THIS IS NOT TRUE, NO DUPE IN D2:R!!!1111 IT"S FAKE NEWS”

I think what gets me is any talk of getting a better trade system in the game itself is lambasted as heretical and would make the game “too easy” but the same people will defend to the death a 3rd party trade site which makes it too easy.

So your proof of duping is that some people have better/more items than you?
Can’t wait to see you in the #1 spot on ladder when/if it releases, since apparantly you’re the best player in the world.

100% this, ‘that’ website wouldn’t exist if there was a proper means to trade

It is impossible to have a unidentifed infinity runeword polearm!
In order to make an infinity runeword the base has to be white and there is no such thing as a unid base that can be made into an infinity runeword.

you sell the base with all but 1 rune in it so they can put the last rune in and then see the final stats

Duping has always been a thing since the beginning of D2 and still continues today on Realms – and since they clearly didn’t touch the netcode with D2:R, it’s going to continue to be a thing.
Blizzard is clearly aware, which is why they removed server IPs from game – which still did nothing to prevent duping, it only made it harder for legit players to walk Clone D.
That is why ladders are cool. Everything starts from scratch, and this gives Blizzard time to hotfix stuff.
Non-ladder will however always be full of that stuff. But not really an issue for me, as I just enjoy the ladders.

Ofc the website would still exist.
more details? how did they get scammed? i’m not involved enough in diablo 2 right now to be involved in the peripheral communities
reading this hurts my brain.
Yes people sell unid runewords all the time. They gather the needed items (Runes + base) and the buyer creates the actual runeword

Using the word “unid” means unidentified, NOT unfinished.
The correct use of referring to an unfinished Runeword is this.
Unique drops are “unid” because they have to be identified.
You guys don’t understand English or game talk.

YOU don’t understand game talk, you pedantic dweeb

I have to agree with Shivan, it would be unfinished, not unID.

It doesn’t matter what you agree with. What is actually used in the game is “unid”. Your opinion would only matter if this wasn’t an already decided thing that has been part of the D2 community since forever.
this is all just some kind of test bench for d4.
idk how theyre gonna make d4 free of those plagues lol
roflcopter - haha, i love that name, i actually use that term quite often.
