So when i open d2r, it works fine the first two cinematics, but after that it just shows a black screen with the diablo 2 logo flaring flame, and i can’t actually get past that part.

YES…this is the answer that I finally got.
Open File Explorer and navigate to these locations:
C:\Users\TheUF\Saved Games
delete the Diablo II Resurrected folder
C:\Users\TheUF\AppData\Local\Blizzard Entertainment\ClientSdk
delete the cookie.bin file
*Note if you don’t see the AppData folder, enable hidden items in the File Explorer options
Once both of those are deleted launch D2R again and test it.
I deleted them both and boom…it worked!

this part, there was no ClientSdk folder or file?
also no cookie.bin file…

Update: This works but I have to do it EVERY time I want to play the game. That is not acceptable.
Update to the update. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and everything runs like new.
