Any idea why RAL-TIR-TAL-SOL didn't make INSIGHT?

I put these runes in the requisite order into a polearm and INSIGHT was not created. Any idea why that may be? No clue.

Let the wise cracks start…

Blue item with sockets, or its a spear, or it has more than 4 sockets? Any of these would cause it not to be insight.

There are tons of reasons why a runeword won’t work.

Many runewords require a specific kind of weapon that goes beyond the class i.e. polearm class or staff class or whatever. i.e. spear = nope as was said above
The item also needs to have a gray name label with only sockets and no magic effects. In particular, the “mechanic’s” effect which adds sockets will not allow rune words to be created.
You need to put the runes in in the correct order.
The item must have the exact number of sockets

Thanks all for your replies. It was a 4 socketed polearm. I believe it was white before I put the runes in. I did place them in the polearm in the requisite order. No idea what is up.

Check again. You made the mistake, not the game.

Which polearm exactly? What was the weapon base called? If it was a pike or lance or something, those are spears not polearms.

Insight is virtually disposable anyway. Dime a dozen unless you make them out of an eth thresher or something. I use them for iron golems on my Necro.

Sure it wasn’t a spear? I’ll admit my first Sol was used to make an insight in a spear. Was a little upset, then I looked it up. Lesson learned, double check everything, even if you are sure you remembered right.

Ethereal Cryptic Axe is the best base actually. :slight_smile:

Yes. It gets the aura. Crushing blow will also transfer so you can use something like the ik maul and get crushing blow on the golem.

That’s actually pretty awesome. May have to play around with that once I start my necro.
