I do not like the current system for spawning uber diablo and getting an annihilus charm. Spawning diablo clone in every active game is flooding the market with annis and making their value plummet. You can easily trade a Lem/Pul for an anni and this should not be the case. I would like an entirely new endgame mechanic to spawn diablo clone, but I understand this would be a lot of development effort. A simple fix would be to change the SOJ sold to vendor requirement to 3 and then diablo clone only spawns in the game where the SOJs were sold. That would give players another achievement to work towards that would be very satisfying to accomplish.

No you can’t. I’ve been offering pul for anni for weeks now and on several occations people joined and told me I would have to at least offer ist for a low anni.
The system in place is working perfectly. It is absolutely a great thing to not have all the anni’s in the hands of dclone farmers, driving the price up.

As a casual player, I’ve only seen dclone spawn once during the past and current ladder in D2:R. He happened to spawn right after I reached hell difficulty with a sorc this ladder, and I was ill equipped to handle him. Yes I tried, his regeneration was too much, and I didn’t have any items with prevent monster heal.
In the OG, I NEVER saw him spawn by random chance while just playing normally. The only times I ever got DClone was when I was actively trying to find an IP on the dclone tracker that was close to spawning and then just sit in the game making my character stand directly south of the A1 campfire and click on the stash just to stop him from being idle kicked. Didn’t work the majority of the time either.
I think the current implementation is working OK. Could it be better? Probably, but it’s better than the old way.

Yeah in the OG I think I only saw him once, when some friends that were into it more than I was figured out how to track him and get us in a party on the right server.
D2R opening things up has allowed me to actually see and fight Dclone, which has been tons of fun.

Yep. Players shouldn’t have to be part of some “secret mIRC society” that hoards all of the annihilus charms, which of course allows them to control the market, and I’m sure some were selling some of the perfect ones for real money. Players shouldn’t have to use the netstat command to see if their D2 client is connected to the correct IP.

As a casual, with a real job, house, wife hobbies etc, I still find time to play a couple hours a day.
Since release of D2r I have “found” 3 Pul’s (cube’d up some)… and D-Clone has spawned 2 times when I’ve been playing.
I have found 3 Gheeds… Gheeds are more common than D-Clone in my experience.
My experience would say things are working ok.
Sounds like OP has more an issue with target farmers… good luck with that.

Pretty sure OP is one of the anni farmers, mad because he can’t make a living off selling anni’s for real money.

Honestly, I think the current system is just unnecessarily convoluted. The way it works in single player is just fine, sell a SoJ to spawn Dclone. Should work the same online, heck, for added challenge, add a time limit to the encounter or something. Players would get to choose when to sell a SoJ for the chance at getting Anni themselves.
Another possibly fun way to spawn Dclone could be to just let RNG decide it. In any Hell difficulty game, there could be a chance comparable to some high runes, to spawn him. Might make it more interesting if you are not prepared for it.
Anni events are sort of meaningless for NL. But for ladder, it’s working better than ever.
At the start of a ladder season there’s a lot of hype when it comes to community organized DClone events.
I think they could try experimenting and increasing the amount next ladder to build more hype and involvement from the community.

I just want a SOJ or two to wear. 
I haven’t dropped one in a few years. It’s always a Nagel or a Manald, or rarely one of the others EXCEPT Stone of Jordan.
Where are all of these SOJ’s coming from? Are these people honestly farming NM Andy endlessly to collect SOJ’s just to walk DClone?

I think 20 - 40 NM rings from Andy would be worth trying for. I’ll actually give it a go for myself soon just so I can see how challenging/time consuming it is.

Meh, I don’t have the patience to run NM Andy repeatedly… I’ll just keep thinking of all of the potential goodies that might have dropped in Hell with that time spent doing that. GIEV ME TEH BERRRRRR MONSTER, YOU GIEV!!1!1

Streamer videos are hardly ever worth watching. Yes, he collected 100 unique rings from Andariel, in SINGLE player. It would take two or three times the amount of time to do that on bnet because, in single player, your map is static and does not change so you always know exactly where the level exits are.

I agree, I prefer watching the online MF content. The guy I linked actually does do MF runs on ladder in his recent videos.
Make Dclone have a chance to drop and item that can be combined with other items (total 3 or 5) to make the Annihilus. That way it’s not a guarantee. You might have to kill him 10-15 times to make the charm or more with bad RNG.
Notice the guys post count? I’d say there is somewhere between a 99% and 100% chance he is one of those abusers boxing/botting/FG-ing.

I’m surprised you got no bites. I bought a mid roll for Um in non-ladder in some random lobby game. I traded all but 2 away in ladder.
My biggest gripe with Uber D is that 95% of people can’t kill him so they go on public forums or whatever and ask for help. Either this needs to stop or they should auto lock games so that no one can join, rejoin to kill Uber Diablo. If you can’t kill him then you shouldn’t be allowed to get the prize. Thus Anni. Those are my 2 cents on this matter.
I do agree that it’s kinda getting a little out of hand nowadays. I just recently bought 2 20/18/5 for vex each in traderie, which also means that, anni without high stats AKA low-medium stats are worthless nowadays, probably worth a few pgems or 1-2 ists. Almost 7-8 months ago, I bought a 20/17/9 for a Jah, now it’s worth like an ohm or lesser. I even got a 20/20/7 for just a jah ber as well.
