Andariel bug is unfair just like Cow King mechanic

I think something should be done about Andariel (or other bosses) quest bug as well. It is unfair for those who don’t know it or won’t trigger it by accident. Makes your character bricked forever and worse than others. Either fix it or make her quest drops as default.

Wait what? That wasn’t fixed? But an actual gameplay feature like e-bugging was axed?

So because you made a mistake you want to punish everyone that didn’t make the same mistake as you?

Sounds about right for Blizzard forums.

I didn’t. I guess I mention it cuz I’m not an egoist.

Its a stupid thing to even have as an option to make a mistake on. If people get dc’d(DEFINITELY happened due to server issues) before they talk to warriv - you’re okay with those people getting screwed?

I came here to make a similar post. The andariel bug is stupid and if anything, with the recent server crashes, it shows how little sense it makes to retain it. You can easily get DC’D by the servers before you talk to warriv. All those people suddenly don’t get the mf bonus because of blizzard server issues? really?

Instead of having a way to trigger the drop bonus - just make the bug drop rates the default for andariel. This doesn’t have to be hard.

Look at these people freaking out when they got 2 more chances in Nightmare and Hell difficulty to bug Andariel. Or spend 15 minutes getting another character to Andariel in Normal…

I’m ok with no Andariel bug though. I farm Mephisto for nearly every item in the game anyways.

Yes.

You know what I did when I originally found out about the Andy bug? I rerolled.

Apart from SOJ and maybe a few early level yellow items what exactly are you missing so badly from Andy being bugged that you equate it with your entire character being screwed over?

Let’s be honest, the only reason to have Andy bugged is if you’re seriously farming a SOJ for grail runs. It’s a nice little bonus but not having it bugged doesn’t mean your character sucks or is useless.

I saw another post claiming it was fixed already.

Guess I should wait for official patch notes before I trust that it doesn’t exist still?

I’m in hardcore. I’m not rerolling. In nightmare alone i saw like 10+ people die just in chaos sanctuary-baal. I actually found an SOJ doing nm runs(First unique ring lol).

But I definitely agree keeping the andy bug and not just making the bugged rate’s the default is a missed opportunity to be generous and less charitably a blunder by VV.

I thought i saw something that said they were going to fix it but i can’t be sure.

Ooh I didn’t now then and didn’t test it. Sorry for posting if it’s fixed

I don’t know if it actually is or not, I didn’t test it myself.

Here’s what they should do:

Find the happy medium in drop rates between quest drops and non-quest drops and set the boss drops to that, regardless if its quest or not.

Quest drops are mostly garbage anyways.

Bam, no more possibility of bugging Andy, or people starting a game with a character that has killed Baal then joining and killing with a character that hasn’t killed Baal. Problem solved.

I honestly passed on reading any replies in this thread and went straight to reply.

The Andy bug should be fixed. Simple as that. It’s not how the game was intended to function and no other reason for fixing it is necessary.

The bug is fixed. I completely forgot about this quest bug in NM but when I came back to farm her for almost 100 times these days, the drops have been pretty good, at least 2 yellow every time, best time I got double unique.

What bug is this? i’ve killed andi lots of times but never had a bug that i’m aware of??

There’s two types of drops from bosses:

Quest drops, and post-quest drops.

The first time you kill a boss, they will always drop 6 items and they will always be rare or better – unless it’s a gem, rune, town portal (Duriel) – and never gold.

Thus, the difference between bugged Andy and non-bugged Andy could be:

Bugged:
Rare ring, rare sword, rare polearm, flawless emerald, set shield, unique flail.
Rare wand, rare sword, rare axe, flawless skull, unique ring, unique boots
Rare axe, ruby, flawless amethyst, rare axe, rare boots, rare belt

Non-bugged:
Magical sword, non-magical axe, rare helmet, 5000 gold
Town portal, magical axe, magical javelin, 4000 gold, 6000 gold
Socketed polearm, javelin, topaz, 2000 gold

The difference being:
-Less drops
-Worse drops
-Gold instead of items

And thus the easiest check if Andy is bugged is wheter or not she drops gold.
If she drops gold, she’s not bugged.

Essentially Act bosses give you better loot when you kill them the first time for a quest than subsequent re-runs. If when you kill Andy you portal back to town (either via your own or the automatic one) and talk to Warriv to go to act 2 before leaving the game, then Andy will be “bugged” to always give you the better quest drops, even though you’ve already completed the quest.

Oh , never knew this , wish i had ! thanks.

Lots of people “lucked into it” since the natural progression is to travel to act 2 once Andy is defeated, but if for whatever reason you left the game before doing so, then you’d get her normal drop rates forever after. More of a big deal for nm and hell where people actually farm her though.
