So I know that ancients give a ton of XP (1.5/20/40, depending on normal/nm/hell). My question is - can you go back and rerun them over and over for the same XP each time? Or is it a one and done? I have fought them more than once on normal but didn’t pay attention to the XP I got but was just thinking about it since I am about to reach them on NM.
There’s a bug with the ancients where after you kill them once you can no longer receive exp.
The huge chunk of xp is the quest reward.
At least that’s how I thought it worked.
Bummer. Makes sense, but man, what a boost it would be! Even if they only let you do it one more time, you could save it for a big bump at lvl 90+.
Haven’t tried yet, but i remember in OG D2, I would just run tons of Hell Cows and got to 99 in a decent manor. But I believe I always did them in full groups as I assume it gives you more xp. Either way, I would recommend that for leveling. Just be prepared to not get loot if you use a keyboard and mouse so go in expecting to get nothing.
Hahaha that’d be great and all but I’m going to be honest with you… I’d use them all up right away LOL. That instant gratification and all you know?
once per difficulty.
fyi:
I think you can get killed if you’re standing on the statue location and you kill the guy who normally stands on it. He needs his spot back I guess. lol at least that’s what I think happened those times…
Hahaha well that sounds like something fun to test out.
