I recently went through various forums and watched MrLlamaSC’s video on the topic. I must say that there are several intriguing ideas being discussed.
The reason for me writing this is that these ideas, while promising, may not be feasible due to their complexity and potential time constraints for the developers. It’s likely that they will never be implemented in a satisfactory manner.
Also, half if not more of these ideas are not mine, so don’t be mad if your own idea has been listed below.
THE CHANGES :
- Skills that spend charges should instead “unleash” their power by default without spending them
- Each charge should have a (their own) default duration of ~8 seconds (requiring some testing) before reverting to their previous level (instead of losing all of them).
- Mosaic should extend this timer (double ?).
- Only the highest charge should be unleashed.
- Charging skills should always apply a charge, even if they miss.
Benefits:
- These changes should bring Mosaicsin’s power level in line with that of wind druid / fishymancer characters.
- This modification respects the original concept of the class, which was to charge up and then unleash. However, it will reduce the time spent charging versus unleashing to roughly 50%, making attack speed an important factor in both managing charges and dps. At level 75, with lvl10 burst of speed, the ideal scenario would involve approximately 50% “unleashing” time by default to get 2-3 different charges up, and around 75% with Mosaic (or adding more different charges to the mix), effectively increasing DPS significantly. High end gear could maybe make it 85%.
- This will make the base class viable, and also balance Mosaic, turning it into a valuable but not overpowered addition. It will also introduce a unique quality of life improvement for Martial Art Assassins.
- This preserves the fun around the current state of the class
- This will make so that assassins now have to make choices as to what they charge up (increasing the fun at least to me)
- This also makes it easier to revert charges to a previous level
Cons:
- These proposed changes may still be quite demanding
- These don’t solve some other issues like the dual claws making it difficult to only charge once and such mechanical caveats with the charges
In case all of this was still too much and the devs just can’t do all these changes …
if there was only 1 change to be kept in order to nerf Mosaic : Make each charge have individual timers (that expires if not refreshed by the associated charging skill).
If only 2 changes : make only the highest charge unleash.
These 2 would 100% suffice. Because no matter how many billions dps mosaicsins would still have, at least they would have to spend time charging and choosing what charges they use.
But this doesn’t fix the class itself.
