Amulet Crafting Math

I wanted to double check. My character is level 91. To be able to craft an amulet with +2 to all skills, a blue amulet found in a level 90 terror zone or higher would work.

Is this correct?

Well technically, considering ennemies in TZ are always 2 lvl higher than you (up to 96) if your character is lvl 90, items dropped by ennemies should be ilvl 92. So, you should be able to craft +2 skill amy.

Not sure if im missing something and its not possible with lvl 90 character, but its most likely possible with a lvl 91 character and lvl 93 amy.

You want to buy with lvl 93 and craft with 93 because the crafting lvl is decided by the item lvl+ char lvl

So you find 93 amulets but you lose at crafting because you aren’t 93

Buying amulets give a level range that is why one needs to be level 93 to gamble/craft to account for that.

In terror zones, the blue amulet should have a defined level.

As far as I know, Gambled item ilvl varies from clvl ±5. It was advised to craft using a lvl 93 characters with an amy gambled with a lvl 93 character, because gambled amulets could have an ilvl of 88 to 98. If you were unlucky and gambled an ilvl 88 amy, by crafting it with a lvl 93 character, you ensured a crafted amy ilvl 90.
Round down(Clvl /2 + ilvl /2) = crafted item ilvl

Yes. Gambling for amulets at character level 92 has a chance to result in a level 87 amulet.

90> int (87*.5) + int (92*.5) = 43 + 46 = 89

At character level 93, it is always at least 90
int(88*.5) + int (93*.5) = 90

Each int value is rounded down.

So according to this formula, any amulet found in a terror zone lvl 91, can be crafted with a lvl 89 character amd would result in a lvl 90 crafted amy, right?

I am not 100% sure. A level 88 or 89 character counts as 44 in calculation. The ilvl of the dropped amulet in that case needs to be 92 or above (at least 46).

At level 90 when creating a terror zone, you are definitely safe.

My suspicion is that one can leech blue amulets easily in level 96 terror zone, so your character level can be much lower.

Your right, looking at the formula it seems that the numbers are rounded down before being added toguether. So 89/2 =44.5 but rounded down it makes 44.

91/2 rounded down makes 45. So the crafted amy should be ilvl 89.

Thx

yes right.
the formula is: int(clvl/2) + int(ilvl/2) >= 90.
so if u have a defiantly itemlvl of 92 and charlvl of 90 u are save.
the reason for the level 93 is because on gambling u can get an ilvl down to 88 and then u need the 93 to get to the 90 for the amu output.

While your formula might be right why not just gamble the ammys needed? You cannot have such a gold shortage and such a surplus of crafting materials that this would break you. The ammys however do probably work just fine from what you’ve said.

As long as blizzard doesn’t waste 5 minutes to correct the requirement lines of the Magic Prefix and Magic Sulfix tables, players will still be vulnerable to drawing Lamprey and the amulet ending at rlvl 95

I am level 91. Until one is level 93, the gambled amulet ilvl may not be high enough after crafting to get +2 to skills.

the way it works is that odd numbers are rounded down before calculations

If you need I’ll gamble you some ammys on my char if you’re on SCL.

Won’t take but a second.
