Amazon > "n to Critical Strike" not applied correctly

I play Amazon on ladder, however after equipping Insight bow and Peace armor, I noticed my total critical strike skill bonus is not calculated properly.

I have 1 point into “Critical Strike”.

  • When I equip “Insight” bow with “5 to critical strike” my total critical strike becomes “4”
  • When I equip “Peace” armor (+2 all skills, +2 to critical strike) my total critical strike becomes “6”

This is not a bug. On Insight & Peace, the +x to Critical Strike is generally called an “oskill” modifier, which has the restriction of +3 maximum if the skill is inherent to the class you are playing. For example, if you wear two of the Trang Oul set on a Sorceress it will only add +3 to Fireball instead of +18.

Thanks, good to know. Still, the item description is misleading.

Yep it is misleading. In original D2 the display was capped to +3 (so if you had a +4-6 CS Insight on an amazon it would only show +3) but either it’s bugged in D2R or they purposefully removed it so that you could see the “correct” stats.

I think the latter is more likely, it sucks though because it does cause confusion.
