Am I Really Going To Need 16gb Of Ram

Really? It can’t be that graphically demanding of a game now…

It’s remastered with 4K models and textures. 16gb is pretty standard.

not only can it go up to 8k now but the graphics have changed to 3d and they don’t cap the frame rate at 25 fps any more. You can run at 720p with just 8 gigs of ram but 16 or even 32 isn’t unheard of for modern titles to recommend.

A simple google search for “diablo 2 resurrected requirements” and selecting the first entry which conceniently is the official blizzard FAQ which lists the technical requirements reveals that 8 gb RAM is enough to play D2.

Still it might be running smoother with 16 gb as 16 gb are actually recommended.

Blizzard Support - Diablo II: Resurrected System Requirements

that’s for 720p blash

Nah, I was running the beta with a first generation i7 980 4,2Ghz, 16Gb DDR3 1600Mhz, RX570 8Gb and 500gb SSD at 1440p 55-60 FPS full settings but capped to 90% internal resolution.

Edit: the CPU never went beyond 30-35%, the GPU, however, was always 90-100% but temp never went above 71ºC.

Pardon?

You are saying settings are restricted when playing with 8 gb ram?

not exactly just it might not run higher than 720p blizzard only validates 8 gigs for 720p

Yes, 720p is the minimum resolution. Allowing you to know whether you can still play it on a lower diameter screen.

It doesnt mean you are restricted to that resolution with the ram setting.
It simply says the minimum requirement is a 720p monitor.

The section is for (mostly hardware) requirements, not for recommended settings.

A good and useful reply. I’m trying positive reinforcement out, for a change.

It would be nice if they could somehow magic the game into using SAM, or DLSS / SuperFX.

you can run it on a monitor lower than 720p though so it must be talking about those requirements being for 720p

32 gb here, weeee

yall think ill br good for 1080p with just 8g of ram… i have an i5 9600k and 1060 6gvram just 8g of ram tho

you might be able to but i would just grab a 2nd 8gb stick for 30ish bucks

I always sacrifice visual quality for game run speed, better fps.
you should Be able to turn down your settings to run the game.
i’m using a I3 a 4gb graphics card & 16gb ram. game didn’t wanna work on top specs but it worked nicely after adjusting them. this was my experience in pre order beta I may try peak setting again when I switch too the I5 and Blizzard stabilizes the game further. But at this Point even this 100$ pc with a 100$ graphics card can run D2r.

I dunno. You might have a point there.

But technical requirements usually do not come with recommended or “to be expected” configurations. It might turn into a double edged sort and it is also not a very good help, because most people will not have a complete match with technical specs but rather have some kind of mix between max cpu, min ram, medium gpu.

Even if i had only 8 gb, i would probably try out a higher resolution and check the fps/load times.

Yes. Make room. Get a better computer.

D2:R has resolution scaling as an option, so if you can’t run it at a decent FPS at 1920x1080, you can still leave that as your resolution and use resolution scaling to increase your FPS.

I couldn’t imagine why PC recommended system specs would be for 720p resolution in 2021.

it’s not, the minimum specs do say they are for 720p though recommended is for 1080p
