Will it be allowed to stream the alpha-test gameplay or this will be strictly prohibited?
Most likely people can stream it. Most of the modern Blizzard Alphas and Betas allow streaming. The ones that don’t are restricted to staff.
Blizzard will provide clear guidance when the Tech Alpha starts.
Hoping it starts soon. I feel like a kid again.
Darn you click bait!
Blizz alphas and betas are 100% for advertising and will 10000% be streamed.
Awesome, this is great to hear!!!
they needa Hurry up and drop the alpha testing, the wait is “KILLING ME”!!
I will stream too if i get chosen for the Alpha
Just to be clear - the streamers who get into Alpha are ones that Blizz already knows. I just don’t want you to think that offering to stream would change your chances in the lottery.
I have no idea if I get in even - although I hope I do. I did opt in so fingers crossed!
MrLlama , Dbrunski125 , maybe Coooley
I’d say MrLlama and Rhyker. I don’t see Dbrunski being involved, at least from the Blizzard side of things. He is my favorite of the bunch though.
Stoking the fires. Waiting…
I’m pretty sure that this is not just a lottery. I think they look at some other factors too.
For example: Who has original D2 in Bnet acc…
I would assume there are a few, portion for media, portion for hardware specs they are worried about, portion for diablo owners, portion for heavy blizzard game players, portion for accounts with no diablo experience, and then a random portion. Could be a few criteria to each but ya it’s probably a swath of different factors.
Many years ago I was chosen for Starcraft 2 beta and those days, each player had to download some kind of software which gathering technical info about the compeuter and creating ‘tester profile’ or somthing like that. Now I don’t see this in my account.
From the MVP posts I’ve seen about it they gather basic PC information from battle.net when you load the blizzard launcher. Probably somewhere in the privacy settings, but I imagine they get a decent enough without you saying yes. Not to make it sound nefarious just they probably have what they need.
If you go into Account settings on the blizzard website, and then under privacy it allows you to turn on allow information for game purposes. Turn that on, if off, and load the blizzard launcher.
Launcher says Tech Alpha coming soon since 5 days now , so when exactly does soon means ?
I personally think it’ll be split 50/50 so they get feedback from both sides of new players and returning players. To see where it stands at from both sides, they will also probably choose people on the bug report forums more, that’s how i’d choose personally though they may even hand out alphas to people who just opt’d in but never post on forums at all.
It’s Blizzard so it could mean anytime from today - 2 weeks before release.
The original D2 keys in your account have been updated to 26 bit keys.
So everything upgrades over time.
You have to opt in the D2R Technical Alpha with your battlenet account in order to be in the lottery for it.
This is what we all understand now.

They need to disable the sorc and paladin for alpha so we can test the lesser classes you know the ones that can’t clear hell near naked
