We are (almost) all of us here, cause we preordered and want to play the Alpha. Even the single player. Thats where you can really enjoy the graphics, like no rush multiplayer game, just rolling through and checking out those lovely garlics hanging in in Act 2.
and if thats the price than just send me a Manual where and how and i will stream it.
Aswell as looking for Blizzard employee to make friends, preferably before the alpha.
I thought the garlic, that was talked about in the D2:R preview video, was hanging in the tavern where Atma and Geglash hang out, in Act 2, Lut Gholein.
I’m not expecting an invitation to any of the D2:R testing. Ever since I’ve had a Blizzard Account, I’ve had my Beta Options set for Diablo-only. But, Blizzard sends me an invitation to every game they’re developing except Diablo games.
(Maybe I should uncheck my Diablo Beta Option and check all the rest).
May the best Hero give the best feedback and make D2 the good days when games would be games and things were SOJ and everyone was happy. Make me believe in Blizzard again!
I think it make only sense that players invited in alpha should have a lot of play time and experience from Diablo 2, but I have no clue how blizzard can actualy tell who that is. To explain why, I think that most experienced players will be able to tell what is wrong with the remaster because they can compare things vs original which they very well know. And I think it is extremely important to make things right, otherwise people will just switch back to old Diablo 2 version if something will not work right.
Based on what we know, this is remaster primarily targeting players who already played and love diablo 2. Its completely fine that there will be new players and many new players from console but that doesnt mean that its not game made for Diablo 2 fans. It will still be pretty old game, only with better graphics because I dont think it will be hit amongst younger generation which didnt play diablo 2.
The Blizzard D2R page states a release date of on or before 12/31/21. So according to that, a release on 6/29 would be highly doubtful. Being as 12/31/96 was the original release date for Diablo 1, and 12/31 will mark Diablo’s 25th anniversary, that is the more likely candidate…
The 12/31/21 date is a placeholder date - last day of the year. That ensures they easily meet it.
This is a remake of Diablo 2, not Diablo 1 - so my fingers are still going to be crossed for June 29th
Too bad we can’t make silly bets on it just for fun.
I will wager a virtual waffle that the D2R release date is closer to Thanksgiving. I’m going with late October/early November.
Get some pre-holiday buzz going to boost holiday sales. Also, you sell the game at full price. If the release date is too early, then they might feel tempted to put D2R on a holiday sale, decreasing their profit margin.
Eh, they don’t need to make a game from scratch and they have been working on it for some time already. So a lot of the normal Alpha stuff does not need to happen. They need to make sure the tech works on modern bnet and that players can connect/play. So this is more testing tech than adjusting gameplay.
Fair. However, I would give them more time to polish than risking being criticized in any way like Warcraft 3 Reforged. They probably have learned this lesson.
i’m thinking April I was just looking at the calander and December isn’t far off if they don’t drop alpha soon they’re gonna get themselves in a crunch imo even more so if they encounter unforseen problems And the community will have nothing but negative things to say if the game is broken apoun release either from Login issues or server consistency… So they def gonna need me testing this game 4 them Lol =D
