I’m going to start off by saying this is the most important QOL change that I’d love to see happen for D2R. D2R was ported over quite well with some added features but the most important aspect of the game is always going to be farming.
Considering it’s been 20+ years since the first game, some players may be used to different RNG styles which is why we continue to read the back and fourth posts on drop rates. I don’t think this is the necessary change. As a matter of fact, it’s a rather easier one that already exists in single-player and that is to allow 8+ player difficulty in online solo and/or private games for farming and higher xp.
One of the reasons this is essential to me is because not everyone plays with large groups of people or in clans. Also, the game creation list we have to search through can be problematic. Some games may fill up to fast, others may not be the game we are looking for, or if we create a game, players may not join at all.
Although D2R is definitely a faithful remaster, I definitely don’t miss the player creation list in this regard. Giving players the opportunity to jump online at their leisure, toggle 8 player difficulty to farm and level is simply vital for me as a player. Especially so when you take into consideration how much time that can be spent trying to find a proper game to join or create for these needs along with the convenience in itself. It should probably be added that I’d like to see this implemented for non-ladder only.
