I have been farming on this Barb for the past week.
I am using Grief Phase blade in dominant hand, and Ali Baba in left hand.
When logging on today, I am unable to swing with Phase blade. I have tried switching hands, and it gives me the attk speed of phase blade, but I am still swinging with Ali Baba.
I have tried weapon swap (page2) and same issue.
Regardless of what hand I put weapons in, I am unable to swing with Phaseblade.
I’m watching myself put the phaseblade on first , it shows me holding it in swinging hand.
I put the alibaba on, it’s literally shifting it to the other hand - regardless of which weapon slot I am using . Trust me I’ve tried putting them in opposite hands and using the weapon swap page. It doesn’t matter what I do. It’s not letting me hold the phase blade in my swinging hand
again, I have been farming almost exclusively with this hero and this issue has just started.
I tried switching out different weapons from my stash and it solves the problem ( I can swing with Grief while wielding Djinn Slayer, but not Ali Baba)
tl;dr - I can’t swing with my Grief PB while wielding Ali Baba, it’s NOT giving me the phaseblade attk speed, and when I switch hands I am getting pb attk speed but the dmg from alibaba
Just a wild theory, and sorry for replying here and the other thread. Also sorry if you tried this.
BUT HERE GOES BECAUSE I ALSO HATE THIS BUG:
Do you by any chance have any charms / gear that gives you a tiny bit of Dex, so that with mostly hardpoints (and like a torch/charm with stat), it just allows you to wield the PB?
From my own issue, here’s what I think could happen in your case with Djinn Slayer.
Version A: I have naked stats to equip 1 of 2 weapons, but weapon 2 allows me to equip weapon 1. In this case, the wrong weapon will main hand (Ali Baba example).
Version B: I do not have naked stats to equip neither of the 2 weapons, as I am using a Torch to give me all stats, in which case no weapon is FORCED into the main-hand and therefore the main-hand stays the main-hand (Djinn Slayer example).
Again, this is only what’s been true for me. So I’m sorry if this is not true to you. But I managed to replicate what you were describing with the above logic.
so I have 136 dexterity, totally naked with no equipment on. I can equip the grief phaseblade no problem. everything else seems fine.
soon as I put the alibaba on, it forces the phaseblade into my off-hand. whyyyyyy
This is blizzards “str bug fix” In action. What is happening, is you dont have enough dex without your gear to use your phase blade. Since Alibaba has Dex on it. the game is making it the primary, since it has to be equipped for you to wield your phase… So basically. Your gear cant help you hold your items anymore. Gotta dump hard stats into it, to have it main handed. Or get a phase blade offhand with 6 ist… since they are the same… it will prioritize what you equip first.
