Hi, i’m making for the new ladder season, one HC WW barb (of course), and then my first martial arts HC Assassin, I wanna give it a go as i’ve always gone traps before. Now, i’ve been messing around on D2 Max roll with martial arts builds, but want advice on which skills would make a good martial arts assassin?
unfortunetaly none.
But I’d suggest you look on maxroll which of the builds sounds most fun to you.
Yea i’ve been messing around with ideas and in theory, i’ve come up with something quite good, making use of maxed out tiger strike, with dragon claw finishing move. If I focus on IAS, it’s looking pretty damn good.
Claw mastery at lvl 27 gives dmg buff of 120% and AR of 260%
Tiger Strike at lvl 27 gives charge lvl 3 dmg buff of 1860%
Dragon claw at lvl 13 gives dmg buff of 310% and AR buff of 360%
Burst of speed at lvl 27 gives IAS of 54% and faster run walk of 63%
on char calc, it gives dmg of over 10,000 with fairly good equipment, with the caveat of a might merc.
llama just put up a guided playthrough for a phoenix strike sin. Worked very well through Normal and Nightmare. Got through hell, but with a lot of work. But that was all SSF without much farming for runes or items.

I did a claw assasin in ladder season 1. It worked relatively well. 20 claw mastery, 20 dragon claw, 20 venom, I ended up puttin one point in death senty, 1 in mind blast, 1 in blade fury, 1 in tiger strike and the rest in shadow master.
The gear was a little expensive but very effective.
Primary weapon: plauge runeword claw
Second weapon: chaos claw
Swap: dual + 3 shadow skills claws
Amulet: seraphs hymn
Armor: Acanes valor wiyh um rune
Boots: shadow dancers
Helm: shako
Gloves: soul drainers
Belt: trang ouls
Ring 1: dual leach, AR, mana
Ring 2: carrion wind
Act 3: fire merc
Helm: flickering flame
ARMOR: oramus robe +3 enchant with perfect amethist
Shield: Ethereal monarc spirit
Weapon: lawbringer
The act 3 merc gives level 38 enchant 400% AR +350 fire damage to me and shadow. Lawbringer removes all physical resists from undead + 108 fire restist party wide from flickering flame
Nice, I might consider some of this, especially the act 3 merc.
Otherwise 1 in blade fury if i need a ranged attack. Shadow master is one heck of a tank and spams traps which i an not using. Dragon claw has about 18k Attack rating. Venom adds 1000 poison damage and i am procing frozen orb , poidon nova, twister, and weaken very regularly. Last we have level 10 whirlwind too.
This is end gane and not budget as you need cham , ohm, vex and you do not have teleport. But you can farm anywhere and you dragon claw will do over 4k per hit
Yea the build I experimented with on maxroll I only chose reasonably good equipment instead of god tier, just to get a reasonable expectation for an end game build.
There are a few different builds.
Claws of Thunder + Pheonix Strike for elemental splash damage. Could go with either Dragon Talon, Dragon Claw, or Dragon Tail for a finisher.
Tiger Tail + Dragon Tail for big single target damage, and fire splash damage. You don’t even need claws, can go one handed with a shield. Could even use Tiger Strike alone for single target damage if you get enough AR to hit with a normal attack.
Crushing Blow + Dragon Talon for a kicker build.
1 Point in Dragon Flight for teleport substitute.
