Adding Sockets to a Shield?

It’s been a long time since I’ve attempted this, but I just tried the recipe - 1x Normal Shield + 1x Tal + 1x Amn + 1x Perfect Ruby and poof…nothing. I’m assuming that it’s because I tried it with a “Superior” shield and that “Normal” doesn’t just mean the Normal Quality White item? Or should it have worked? I just can’t remember lol.

Yeah it’s just because they’re “Superior”. Actually the recipe works on Exceptional class shields (probably Elite too, haven’t tested).

the only way you do get sockets in a ‘Superior’ item is through Larzuk, unfortunately

but, save that for any superior elite ethereal items, cause, ya know, godly runewords

I just hate the wording on some of the guides, y’know? When I read “Normal” shield, I think a white item that’s Normal class, but that’s not what it means at all lol.
