So this kind of long , I’m almost done with ladder this season and I was as thinking I’m so over high rune farming , it burns me out that once I get what I want I cba playing much after.
I’m sure i’m not the only one who has thought about this but why cant items have more sockets? especially rares and unique’s.
The cube is 3x4 grid with the largest item , lets say WF taking up 2x4 that leaves 4 slots available , perfect for 4x essences to add a socket to said item, and I’m not talking only one I’m talking up to 4 depending on item, level and attributes. But one essence set would only add one socket to add more you need more essence sets.
Proposed changes to Unique , Rare items D2.
Helms , Chest , Shield/Offhand and Weapon, can have multiple sockets if certain conditions are met.
Helm may have only one socket if it has + all skills and is not class specific.
Helm may have 2 sockets if it is highest version , has no + all skills , Is class specific , has no predetermined sockets already.
Helm may have 3 sockets if it has no + all skills and is not specific to a class and is upgraded to its highest level .
Example 1- Shako - Griffon - Andy’s all have + skills and are not class specific therefore they can only have 1 socket.
Example 2 - Coa already has predetermined sockets therefore it can not gain anymore then it originally rolled. Same goes for rares if they roll with a socket initially.
Example 3 - Arreats, Jala’s if upgraded is class specific therefore it can have 2 sockets.
Example 3 - Rockstopper is not class specific and has zero + all skills therefore it could have 3 sockets if upgraded.
Example 5 - Rare helms that are class specific can have 2 sockets ie 2/20 circlets, Bo helms , pelts etc. If they roll with a socket you can not add another since it was predetermined already.
Example 6 - rare helm with no class specific skills or + all skills can have 3 sockets etc.
I’m not going to type it all out but you could use these conditions for Shields , Necro off hands , Chest Armour’s etc. Weapons is different as you have 1 hander vs 2 hander, personally id just say all unique and rare one handers can have 2 sockets and two handers 4 sockets across the board.
