Add new difficulty level please

Hi, i would have an proposal that might make game a bit better in multiple aspects.

Add new difficulty level after hell.

How it should work ?
It would be simply hell difficulty which would start at players 3 with a max number of players capped to 5.
Example : playing with 2 friends on this new difficulty would cause it to have players 5 hell diff.

Why ?
Honestly for many builds game is not a challenge at players one after getting some basic gear.
This applies to people who plays alone or in small party.
Getting together with 7 people its chaotic, and many times impossible (if you dont want to get all loot snatched sooner than it drops), which kind of block games full potential.
Also this would very much helped with solo farming online as playing solo would have drop chances of players 3.

Other ideas :
Potentially also higher player count could be used or it could be combined with increasing monster health and dmg by 10percent etc.

Thanks.

Is this one of those moar loot requests, in the guise of: Game too easy?

Nope, its a suggestion that came to my mind.
Are all of your 829 posts on this forum this relevant ?

It will not happen, would need to rework too much things, balance items and monsters, need new items. this is a remaster after all. they didnt reworked the whole game from scratch lol.

So You’d be fine with basically adding players/X to online, if it affected nothing but the monster difficulty?

Not at all, this one is relevant because I’m seeing a pattern here. Usually I’m just a sarcastic jacka$$ talking smack.

Joking aside, I think the best solution would be somewhere between adding personal loot, to having fixed droprates, and the player count only affecting XP gains instead.

There is nothing you’re going to request that matters.

Every time people cry about wanting something added or changed it’s given to people and it’s still never enough.

Despite being given what they ask for, they always wind up asking for it/more again and again.

The complaint about players and not enough stash space in D3 has already proven this.

Before the RoS expansion, people were crying about not having enough stash tabs. So the introduction of RoS increased the stash tab…Guess what, it still wasn’t enough and people were again crying about not having enough stash space.

So the Necromancer DLC was introduced which came with an additional stash tab (So now people had 2 more tabs) and guess what, the crying about not having enough stash space was happening again.

Once again the people crying were given yet an additional stash tab through Season journey and guess what…yep there is still current crying to this day about not having enough stash space.

So far people cried 3 times about not enough space and so far were given it and somehow it’s still not enough they want more.

The problem isn’t the lack of stash space because there is plenty, the problem is people are hoarders. But apparently you’re not allowed to state the actual problem because it is insensitive.

The above example proves that giving people what they want, doesn’t solve the problem, it just makes it worse.

I operate perfectly fine with the stash tabs I have, in fact I was fine without the 3 additional ones. In fact now I have too much stash space. I only use about 4 tabs max the rest are fully empty

If the amount of current storage somehow still isn’t enough and that was after 3 increases, then yes you do have a hoarding problem and a serious one at that. How about people go seek therapy for their compulsive hoarding instead of asking for more space they’re going to fill up and cry about needing more space. They already did that 3 times in row and they’re still asking for more space because what they were already given is still somehow not enough.

If you take away added xps/loot no one would play it lets be realistic.

But i personally think there is more to it then just added loot that comes with added challenge (if i wanted added loot i would go single player on p8 anyway).
There is quite a lot of people who simply dont have other 7 friends playing d2r.
Maybe a challenge of going throuh higher difficulty with less people would bring something new especially on ladder starts. That is my point of view.

Also personalized loot sounds as very good option that would solve why people are not that keen to grouping with strangers.

That’s why I find it funny when people ask for more “challenge”

I honestly think that having a fixed drop rates, say p3 or p5, and simply having the player count affect the xp would be a good compromise.

“The monsters of Sanctuary are enraged by the sight of the Standard of Heroes that you carry. Their health, damage and density have been increased.”

  • The Standard of Heroes would function like a charm, raising the health, damage and density of monsters by 12.5%.
  • If 8 players with the SoH are in the game and in the same area, that would equal double health, damage and density.
  • The density modifier would not apply to uniques, super uniques or bosses.
  • Experience and drops would remain the same per monster. The increase in XP and drops would come from the increased density.

It’d put an end to the long standing uselessness of the Standard of Heroes, and add difficulty to the game without adding another difficulty level.
