I would very much like to see information about my current attack speed shown in character stats screen.
Maybe hovering over damage number near Strength attribute.
Showing like “4,56 Attacks per second”
Bonus: showing also how much bonus % attack speed you need to reach another breakpoint. Like “You need 20% more attack speed to attack faster”
I think this would be nice QoL feature. Helps on playthrough to recognize if you hit faster with certain weapons. Having this information directly in-game.
If you mean information: “70% increased attack speed”. That doesnt say to me anything. I must still search 3rd party site to check how many attack/second I do.
How is that not a QoL?
How is it a big core change?
Its just precise information about your current character state. Same as precise % to block, precise % to get hit by monster, etc.
I mean, how much do you really need to know? If it says 70% increased attack speed, go out and kill some stuff, then ask yourself, is this fast enough for me? That determines whether you want more attack speed or not. If you wanna get all super technical with it, then it stands to reason you’re gonna have to look it up. The game shouldn’t hold your hand and tell you everything every step of the way.
This is not great reasoning and the TCs request is definitely not unreasonable. The game is super vague and confusing about speeds. IAS does not tell you much without knowing your character, weapon, and skill. I don’t think anyone would guess that the Sorceress is the character with the fastest base two handed axe attack, meanwhile the barbarian is relatively slow with it. Then you have items say “Slow”, “Fast”, “Very Fast”, etc., but that has little actual baring on how fast the attack is, only giving you a slight idea of what the speed may be like.
why would you need this on character selection?? WHY… if there’s one thing i do not care about on my sorc, it’s her IAS… which i would NEVER want to see on the home screen.
and the fcr? no i don’t need to see that on the character selection, i’ll go in game and look at my character sheet… what is this nonsense.
He’s replying to imptaker who suggested moving away from break points.
I think people are asking it to be on the character sheet, you’re the first I’ve seen mention character selection screen. People want the in game UI to either calculate and display the attack speed (in seconds or frames) based on the break points and/or display the break points.
Yes you don’t care about attack speed on your sorc, but I do on my zealot and frenzy barb. I would on a Passion zeal enchantress. Basically any non - caster. Adding for fcr, fhr, etc would be really nice. The advanced sheet showing total ias is nice but it’s a little meaningless without going to to look up the break points and base weapon speed etc or using a 3rd party calculator.
Having it in game let’s you assess whether an item swap that gives more IAS actually does anything or not (if it gets you to the best break point) without having to break game immersion by doing a lookup on the internet.
I am not sure what exactly you are trying to say. They never said on the character selection screen, they said on the character stat screen. Which is exactly what you just said you would use.
Also, some builds for sorceress care about attack speed, plus that is just one class.
ok sorry i guess this was missunderstood then. my original response was referring to “imptaker”.
i totally agree that additional information shown is part of QoL and should be implemented
i mean i think it would be nice for the game to show you the breakpoints and what your at, but that would be a lot of coding.
it mostly depends if the devs who can do that are also better off doing other things.
im not going to pretend X amount of dev time can be used for anything… you’re not going to get your concept artist to help with programming.
i think fixing actaul bugs like “feral rage”
which literally DOES NOT followed the skill description at all. ( the leech value displayed on the skill double what u actually get, because the skill provides +4 life leech every two level instead of every 1 level like the description says)
which side the fix i could care less about, but they should certainly match
