Now I hired ACT 3 Iron Wolf because this character has the enchant skill.
But it doesn’t have synerge for enchant skill.
That’s why Iron Wolf’s enchant skill is useless.
Even though my mercenary has 39 level enchant, but when it spell this to my character, damage only increase 2~300.
Please patch for ACT 3 Iron Wolf. It needs synergy skill too.
It is very little damage. The main benefit is the attack rating boost.
Imagine if they could benefit from sorc items and sorc olny affixes. Wield orbs and actually block with their shield. Never again engage in melee, only raining spells from a safe distance.
There are countless things in D2R that are still super garbage and need rework, but many console players are still crying for a chat feature lol
chant merc not worth it…get Blessed Aim from A2 merc for AR boost
even a full on lvl 55 enchant from a SORC is garbo dmg with synergies(6k fire dmg)…thats 1/4 of lvl 53 Fireball dmg
your better of with A2 B-Aim + a polearm giving an aura on top of B-Aim
EDIT: lvl 55 enchant only work solidly((FOR BOSSING) with WW Barb(12 hits), Summoner Necro(16-24ish hits), Summoner druid(11 hits), as well as Strafe(8 hits)//Multishot(1 hit) bowazon…and buffing lil tombers/cow-runners in norm to help lvl up to do effective dmg…chant sorc is pure support and you would be lucky to even get a non-caster group to begin with to buff :S
and on the downside…hell difficulty has a lot of fire immune//resistant so enchant will do about nothing in hell…6k meeting a 50% fire resist is a mere 3k dmg…the buffed melee dont even run infinity or conviction…thats pretty much a build that will not only need a Conviction pally but also a lots of melee multi-hit characters to be effective
ppl will also prefer a 26k fireball in work with conviction over a puny 6k enchant + deadweight sorc slow attacking with demon machine crossbow//gotta wear lots of prebuff gear then swap to non-prebuff for actual combat
untill lvl 55 enchant get buff to at least 15k dmg…not rly gonna happen
Maybe the Iron Wolves should have the Sorc’s mastery for the element they are using?
The 2.4 patch they need another one that goes farther. Still a ton of stuff that is weak to a point of unusable. It will never be perfect, but could be a lot better
They already went that way may as well go farther.
Its an amazing boost to your melee char. Also, Cold version is very good, but light is the trash one.
Act 3 has it’s downsides, but they could be fixed, although damage wise I would only give them sunder powers, all equip slots, and good gear…
I’ve described it in the link below… that’s literaly whad devs would need to do to fix iron wolves.
TL:DR
a3 merc needs:
-a lot faster run and walk speeds in monstats.txt
-huge toughness boost
-boost to life recovery and/or a new more efficient way to do so
-sunder power acording to element
-ful slots equip + restriction removal on weapons (monstats.txt)
-adding him to sorceress class equivalent (hireling.txt) so he benefits from + sorc skills and could wear orbs ( together with item restriction removal)
the rest is just a matter of good gear -x% mob cold/fire/lightning damage>all
so a eth JMoS Jewler Monarch of Simplicity (-30%req) ( req 100str) a good eth Jewlerer’s armor diadem with sox and 20-25fcr ( 25%fcr namely griffons) for facets, and either 6os crystal sword or some runeword with good -x% mob ele dmg, plus caster gear to reach 86%fcr breakpoint, and you’re set. works good on players1. players8 would have decent survivability but poor dmg ( quite a good balance actually)…
so all in all I agree without theese changes they suck badly…
