I forgot that after killing him you move to Nightmare (I haven’t played for a few years ^^), now I can’t Baal run 
My items pretty much suck atm, I can’t advance in Nightmare if I play solo.
What would you recommend? Farming in normal? Playing with help and advancing in Nightmare?

In D2R, you can change difficulty back to a lower tier.

So When you are in the Join game screen You should see a Cog wheel in the upper right. Click it and it will Have a drop box for you to select a difficulty.

Actually this is fixed now! if you click the little gear I believe, to the right of the Join game name/password you can choose if you want to see Normal Nightmare or Hell games now! Very useful.

You can still play normal games and you can still search lobby games for normal games. So i think your fine.
Upon game creation you can choose normal/nightmare and in the filter options you can select normal/nightmare etc

You can filter games by normal / nightmare / hell by clicking on the cog wheel on the lobby screen. No issues at all killing Baal.
you can toggle the game filter to be able to still see normal games
You can either change the option in d2r to see normal games or just solo baal runs for a bit not really that hard just takes longer…

So, where can I find better decent items?
Top right of Game Selection screen is a gear, click it and set it to the Difficulty you wish filter for.
make rune words, thats the best. If you are a barb or amazon you kinda just need to find them which takes time. Type in diablo 2 rune words into google and read up on those. THey are vital and are a kind of craft item.
