Absorb Items not stacking. Blackthorn's face and Lightsabre

I’m currently wearing Lightsabre (25% lightening absorb)and Blackthorns Face (20% lightening absorb) on my Paladin which combined give a Lightening absorb rate of 45%, however the adavanced stats are only showing 25%. Whilst I know max absorb rates are capped at 40%, something is amiss here.

What absorb rate am I actualling getting? Is the game totally ignoring the Blackthorns face absorb rate or just not showing it?

Actually nevemind what I said before, I think you have two different values on your stat sheet, one for flat absorb and one for % absorb, no? % absorb is capped at 40% while flat absorb has no cap iirc.
