Hi, i’m a great fan of Diablo 2 series.
I played D2 for over 20 years and mostly, played pvp.
I’d like to talk about character balancing on the PTR server.
- First, the most serious problem, the Necromancer damage and division issue.
The Necromancer is currently the most powerful pvp character in D2.
It is easy to hit the enemy with bone spirit, but the damage is strong and Nec also has bone armor.
According to patch 2.4, Necromancer’s bone spears and bone spirit can have nearly 7,000 damage.
In pvp, it’s more than 1100 damage and it’s a disaster.
I can agree that bone skill used necromancer is weak in hunting.
So, my suggestion is to increase the damage of the Bone Spear and lower the damage of the Bone Spirit.
And, Lowering the skill divion of bone spirit to 8.
In PvE, bone skill used necromancer only use bone spear to attack.
And also, with the increased bone spirit damage in 2.4 PTR, it can cause hit recovery 100%, and kill enemy character by 3~4 hit.
This is too serious problem.

Twice, the bone armor absorption.
With excile shield setting, the probability that the smiter hits nec and generates hit recovery is 0%.
With 4 socket shiled with x4 15%attack speed 40%increase damage jewel, it only can cause hit recovery by 30~40%.
Please consider adjusting the absorption of bone armor.

Third, the problem with druids isn’t skill composition or damage.
Druid have a good skill set.
But the problem is that the utility is too bad.
It’s too hard to raise fast hit recovery and fast cast rate.
The number required to raise them must be appropriately adjusted.

Fourth, barbarian’s leaf skill is mainly used to ruin the game.
It can knock back the enemies in all directions within a wide area.
If barbarian determined and keep jumping without resting, no one can stop it.
Therefore, it is necessary to readjust the range of leaf.

Lastly, it is necessary to down-regulate the paladin skill charge.
If you charge while the character is walking mode, you can maintain both defense and block rate.
Also, if you use the wheel wind in the direction you are running away, can be damaged by the charge skill.
This is extremely lethal for barbarians and assassins.
PvE is important contents of course, but please don’t betray those who have loved pvp for a long time.

I can agree with them weakening bone spirit, but bone spear needed a buff as the bone skills themselves are weak in PvM. Maybe they could adjust the damage penalty for the necromancer in PvP? I don’t think they should refrain from making skills useful/buffing them in PvM because of PvP though.
Leap could use a nerf in terms of knockback area though.

I’m totally agree with your thoughts.
Blizzard should consider to add -% magic damage reduction option to certain curse skills.
Please consider both PVP and PVE.
There are still a lot of users who enjoy pvp and it is increasing.

They just need to adjust (inc) magic dmg penalty in pvp. Solve is the oPness issue of bone spirit and hammer

I think hammer is not OP skill in pvp.
Because it’s so easy to avoid it.
Just running any direction = free from hammer

I think you are right… Adjusting bone spear makes sense for general PvE… My impression was that Bone Spirit should be a “single target, boss killer” skill…
If they want to buff bone spirit, and make it good for killing bosses, why don’t they add a “crushing blow” effect to make bosses easier to kill?
That would fix a lot of problems without breaking PvP too much?

Have you tried slowly walking away from bone spirit?
is not avoid it or running any direction , that will make you win the fight
a barb can not attack a paladin or trade attack again a hammedin , he just get erase with a 4 k hammer
compare other class are able to trade attack , this is the issue melee just have to run aways like coward , back in 1.09 hammedin use to be strong but at least my barb have a shot to try to go inside , not anymore, a hammer that touch him ,just erase my barb

PvM is important content?
PvM is THE content. That is a PvM game.
pvp is some funky fun mode. pvp never had any balance.
Never balance skills based on a quirky side option mode.

D2 is pvm. Trading is part of pvm mode.
Pvp was included for fun. Some purists like it. It was NEVER intended to be balanced. Straight facts.

I suggest totally different aproach: buff crafted recipe:
Safety shield from 10% magic resist upto 20% magic absorb, or 33% magic resist.
There has to be % magic resist item for PvP imo.
