with all the request from diablo 3 player bye bye the true authentic experience .
i think this video is a false advertising , and i will ask for refund if the game have too much big change , and this will be legit ,because this video advertise
a true authentic experience and is not
blizzard need to remember diablo 2 player stick too the game and is because diablo2 player community he have d2re , not diablo 3 player , so blizzard diablo2 is not d3 or d4 , dont change the core of the game thank you
Do you honestly think that there is a mass conspiracy of D3 players on the D2R forum where you have to pre-purchase D2R to post and spent $40 to troll/ruin D2R?
Do you think that Blizzard can provide D2R with an authentic D2 experience AND additional options that make it less D2-like (such as the announced auto-gold pickup and shared stash)?
Does providing a classic D2 experience in addition to and in parallel to a modern D2 experience eliminate the authentic experience?
i honestly think d3 player and retail wow player base are really destructive , for classic game , they always come with a bunch of change and request that hurt the core of these classic game , you already have other game for this , d2 is a classic game the same of wow classic , just go back playing retail diablo 3
Not this nonsense argument again…everyone I know that tried WoW and D3 played D2 before…we’re all gamers here, using a different game people play is pretty silly.
you will have the option to mod all your request , the fact are d2 is a classic game
and advertise with a authentic experience that will relive our memory , this are fact , all diablo3 player , will have the mod option with plugy
sadly is more complicated of this , already for me a authentic experience is 1,09(primed2)
and for newer player is 1,14 so just there is 2 version of the game , i dont think blizzard will run a bunch of server for d2re . already wow classic tbc have so much more player and $$$ and he can not have a fresh server , so i dont have hope for this in d2re , blizzard are just too greedy these day
People here are just offering suggestions and arguing amongst themselves. A while after D3 came out loads of people including myself where asking blizz for a D2 remaster and we where completely ignored for years lol
I agree with the op first post. If you play D3 and love D3 and haven’t played D2 great. I have played D2 for 14+ yrs logging at a minimum of 20,000 hours in it. It is likely closer to 36,000 hours. I had no life for a very long time. When I played D3 I instantly disliked it. I played it till the end. I could not bring myself to keep playing it. Expansion came out, was promised changes played it again. Once again could not keep playing it, went back to D2. It in my honest opinion is a better game. The complexity is what makes it a much better game, the annoyances make it a better game. The dark gore and mature content make it a better game. Updating graphics and keeping the gameplay almost identical would make for a better game. The reason why D2 has such a loyal following is because of the complexity, and annoyances. It is basically as realistic as you can get but, with the changes to realism being only sacrifices for the story and spells. This makes the game incredible. D3 listened to all the whiny people who wanted everything to be easier. Because of this it was much more of a flash in the pan. The reason why people play these older games isn’t just nostalgia this fades over time and you will become bored. Complexity and difficulty is what has kept almost all D2 players playing D2. The story is complex and has you looking at trials and tribulations of people and the very meanings of good vs evil. The item stats are vast and unbelievably complex. Any little change anywhere has lasting affects throughout the entire game. There are ways to make a D2R Expansion and make it work. There is a way to possibly make an Act 0 as well. The problem is you need to stay as true as is possible to the core of the game. There are ways to tweak things here and there but, even those tweaks have ripple affects. People who have played for an extremely long period of time understand these idiosyncrasies. They understand if they tweak this it will allow x to happen which causes y to happen which causes z to become an overpower or under powered character. This is what he is taking issue with. The people that played D2 tried explaining this to blizzard for D3 and we got literally trolled by the developers with a rainbow and unicorn level. Then what happened the number of people playing D3 left. Some went back to D2 but, most just left. The number of active players dropped like a rock. It has probably stabalized now but, they had a huge number of players when the game came out. Absolutely massive number of players. Because of WoW, D2, D2 clone games getting old. They failed to listen and it cost them a huge number of dedicated players which they could have monetized to the Nth degree. Through expansion packs and the works. Because of this, people are a hell of a lot more passionate about this because those that didn’t speak out saw what happened with diablo 3. I am sorry if it sounds like I am bashing D3 but, the game could have been soo much more than it was. This is what D2 people who still play D2 do not want to see happen to D2R.
pre order is already a prove of support and i also play diablo 1 from day 1(i buy my first pentium 1 for diablo 1 release i think is a 133mhz lol so a longtime ago )
. is not a threaten , btw try to be fair and look this on both side player get miss lead with the authentic experience that revive my memory, advertise in this video,
Have you considered that your gameplay time is indicative that your personal experience and time investment is not representative of the D2R target playerbase as a whole?
The assumption that people who want changes don’t love D2 as much as purist or are D3 players pisses me off, I played D3 didn’t like it, and still don’t like it. I love D2 but I can acknowledge past my nostalgia that not all D2 was perfect and there are things that will just make it better experience over all. Even back in my teens playing D1 and D2, I wanted updates to some of the pain points.
Having said this I do think we need a classic LOD mode, as I’d like to play both a classic mode lod mode, and one with even more changes then they have announced at blizzcon .
Let’s break this down plain and simple. D2R is an attempt to grab the money they can while people wait for D4. It is also so they can pay homage to the people playing it for years. It is also so they can modernize the back end, drive down server costs, and make it a hell of a lot more reliable back end so it dosen’t cost them a lot to keep it working. Blizzard has complained about the servers for D2 for years. The difference is once D4 is out most of us are probably not going to want to play that. D4 is made for D3 people. D4 so far does not have the complexity, depth, etc. Also you are completely glancing over the fact that we tried this the other way with D3 and it didn’t work out so well. Also, do you think they are going to keep D2 up when D2R has been out for a year or 2 yeah, no. They are going to nuke that thing like a ghost from starcraft. Stealthily and from a far ways off.
