I’ve had this idea before—something like a trophy system you could earn, kind of like the seasonal rewards in Diablo 3.
I thought it’d be cool if trophies could replace charms and had their own separate inventory.
I don’t know if that’s what it was originally for, but I heard there was an idea for a trophy system that never made it into the game. I think it was called the “Trophy Case.”
Idk about a trophy system (didn’t play much D3). But I’ve had the same idea regarding a separate charm inventory. It would be nice to use the “main” inventory for drops.
Yeah, there’s global discontent with the charms cluttering the inventory, though a small part of the community being fundamentally opposed to the idea, and the rest not being able to reach a consensus as to the details (charm bag dimensions, or what other system to apply), likely made the idea unappealing to the devs.
To me it’s rather simple - click a “charm icon” and get brought to a “charm bag”, which is the exact size as your char inventory. The only rub is any charms put in the char inventory don’t work. They must be in the bag. It’s a shame we’ve never had this. Instead we have an inventory filled with charms and having to stop every 2 minutes and ID something because the cube is full.
Yes, that’s the main suggested system, though the matter of the bag’s size is contentious.
4x10 is strictly a buff to everyone except the few PvP players that completely fill their inventory with charms (plus, the players fundamentally opposed to any charm bag consider the convenience a massive buff). But anything below that is a nerf to some players of the community. I’d personally be ok with most sizes of charm bag, as long as it’s not absurdly small (my ideal size is a pyramidal form with column sizes in order : 1, 2, 3, 3, 2, 1 or 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 3, 2, 1 in order to push for mixing charm sizes, but I have a wide tolerance as to what I’d be ok with).
