A Hundred countess runs and not a SINGLE! tir rune

Millions of literally ANYTHING ELSE but not a single FU****** TIR RUNE!!! What the hell is going on here??

Good thing you can cube some Elds together and get your Tir.

Rng my man.

Do cow runs and Chaos runs. They can also be good for rune drops.

Make sure you have as little MF as possible.

This is a good example for the people that thought MF was nerfed, no wonder Blizzard stopped posting here.

and , literally millions, is completely NOT literally true.

But ya know.

I would give you one but it may be another hour or two before I can play a game that I already have paid to play

What does MF and runes have to do with each other? I’m curious. I must have missed something.

They don’t. MF actually hinders your chances of finding runes since runes aren’t magical.

Wait… Countess doesn’t average 10,000 runes per drop?

I’m just saying that it’s all RNG. Some people were claiming magic finding items was nerfed because they weren’t able to find 15 shakos within a few weeks of play time. The op is a good example of someone trying to find a low tier rune and not being able to find it because of RNG.

I don’t think this is accurate.

MF affects the magical level (magical, rare, set, unique) of items that are rolled into a drop… I don’t think it prevents items such as scrolls, gems, runes, etc… from spawning.

Yep, here’s a quote about it:

Magic Find has no effect on which base item drops. It only affects whether what drops is Magical. If the particular mob’s loot table includes possibilities such as 1-2 armor pieces, 1-2 weapons, 1 Jewel, and 500-1000 gold, it’s still going to drop some combination of 1-2 armor pieces, 1-2 weapons, 1 Jewel, and 500-1000 gold. Magic Find only improves the chances that those armor and weapon pieces it drops are of Magical quality, and which level of Magical quality. More Magic Find doesn’t make more gear, Rings, Amulets, Runes, Jewels, Gems, or Charms drop – killing more mobs makes more things drop.

countess has a 1 in 4 chance of dropping tir in normal and a 1 in 8 chance of dropping in nm and hell. It’s rng, but i have a hard time believing you did 100 runs without a single tir. I don’t even pick tir runes up anymore I have so many stashed.

I don’t pick them up at all. Its just far easier to make a normal game and trade a Ko (or any other mid decent rune) for any garbo rune when/if you need it.

EDIT; I actually dont pick up anything lower than a Pul, with exception being Ko, and Hel.

You are allowed not to believe it hehe. But it’s true. every second drop is tal and / or ral, the rest is eth or nef

Mf has zero impact positive or negative on rune drops.

MF Hinders you if you have better non-mf gear that you could be using to farm runes with faster, just because of clear speed, not the mf itself

Well it’s possible, but statistically it would be an anomaly to do countess in any mode 100 times without a tir. Surely in those 100 runs you found other runes that should be tradable.

Magic find increase the rate at which a magical item will drop if an item were to drop. So if you running around with 780% mf on yout character, the likelyhood of finding a magical item (anything not white) has been greatly increased. Because of this, the chances fo you finding a rune is therefore less because runes aren’t magical, they’re normal.

There are some rules when it comes to potions dropping and random miscellaneous stuff like scrolls, I haven’t memorized it, but an ez to remember thing is: if you’re looking for socketed items or a white archon plate or a rune or even gems, you’re best to not have any magic find what so ever to increase your normal drop odds.
This does not mean you cannot find normal drops with magic find, but only means you have an increased chance of having those items be magical in nature.

There’s an ocean of info about the details, just look em up.

You are totally incorrect. Read what I quoted.

EDIT: Well… maybe not totally. Your statement about whites/socketed items is true. If you are looking for those, less MF is better.

I actually value runes lower than Tal more than those on the Tal-Amn range because countess has a high chance of tals and I can cube up to higher easily, while Els and Tirs drop with much lower rates
