I’m playing a Bowazon for the first time, and I never really realized just how essentially impossible it is to legitimately make a full power Faith bow.
For some reason Faith, along with virtually every bow Runeword ,uses 4 sockets even though the Amazon specific bows all have 5 max sockets.
Ok, so first you need to get Ohm and Jah. But that’s the easy part.
Then you need to get a Grand Matron Bow. I’ve seen exactly one of these legitimately drop in game in years of play. But, then its possible that it could have +1 to +3 skills. So you only have a 1 in 3 chance of getting a best possible version of the bow. Then if you get a white +3 bow, now you have to take a 1 in 6 chance to socket it and hope to get 4 sockets.
I mean, when you compare this to so many other BiS items, the odds of actually being able to self-find and create an optimal Faith bow are astronomically small. Like to actually make a self-found Faith bow it could take a lifetime. Pretty insane, esp. when you compare it to something like Grief, HotO, or even BotD.
I’d venture to say that an optimal Faith, i.e. in a +3 skills Grand Matron Bow, may well be the hardest runeword to actually make. But, this is what drives the behaviors that we see in the game, in terms of bots, etc. The bad behavior is a product of the insanely diminishing odds to being able to obtain optimal gear.
Now granted, you don’t actually need optimal gear to PvM, but if its there people will want it, and of course PvP drives the "“need” for optimal gear.
