Just found one of these, and I’m just wondering if there are any decent runewords you’d recommend for my merc–or at least runewords I should definitely avoid. <_<
I’m playing single player, so I highly doubt I’m going to be able to cobble together the requisite runes for any of the higher-end words, so anything low-to-mid-tier would be fine with me. Highest rune I have right now is a Gul.
I’m a total noob so even Honor looks decent to me for the life leech, but I’m guessing it might be considered a waste putting it on a thresher.
Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
You can always make Honor in it and reset it with the Hel+TP scroll recipe later on.

Yeah, the fact that I’m a total noob means I’m totally unaware of what all you can do with the cube. I just didn’t know or remember that was even a thing.

5 socket thresher is perfect base for Obedience. You could do honor too but… Obedience isn’t that much more expensive and is vastly superior.

When I made this thread I had closed out of the game, and didn’t remember what runes I even had other than the Gul. Opened it just now and lo and behold, turns out I already had a Ko and Fal, so Obedience it is.

Obedience actually helped a ton getting my barb into hell. The enchant proc lasts over 10 minutes and gives you a massive amount of the badly needed attack rating to actually hit things. I probably would have had to go back to NM for a while if I didn’t have it from zon’s merc.

The max damage on my merc went from ~600 to 2000+ with this new weapon, lol. I have some life leech on him thanks to a blue helm, so hopefully this means he’ll be a lot more survivable. Plus, I’m guessing the -25% fire res will help whenever I encounter Fire + Lightning immune dudes, which kind of suck for a trapsin.
I’m the type of person who must kill every elite pack I come across, so I don’t even run away from fire+lightning immunes. I just heal the crap out of my merc as he whittles away at their hp bar, with some death sentries around that hopefully can explode some corpses to speed up the process. <_<

It only counts for the entity holding it. It will help your merc deal extra fire damage from his enchant proc, but it won’t help you at all. Likewise if you were to hold an item with -lightning resistance it won’t help your traps at all because they count as minions casting the spells, not you casting them.

actually if you find any white thesher it should socket out to 5. better is 5 socket eth thresher. eth obedience thresher does about 1k damage and runes arent too hard to find
