Why aren’t all shields able to have 4 sockets. i understand that the shield socket number was made long before we had runewords but with trying to balance all classes this is something that would be easy to accomplish. Currently only paladins can use spirit at lvl 25. Why cant all classes enjoy this runeword at 25 instead of the other 6 classes cant use until level 54.
Dont say that is a pally shield only proc because what they get is either all resist or damage/ar
Either make it available for all at 25 or change spirit shield to lvl 54 to be used.
Pretty sure its easier just to make all shields capable of 4 sockets and let area level determine how many they get.
Not sure why some cry about using it at level 25 but are ok if you use it at level 54 makes no sense.
If you dont want to use it at level 25 you dont have to, but it should be your choice.

Lets lower requirement of all uniq itens to lvl 1. You dont have to use it, but its your choice. You do understand how poor argument are you using?
Its level 54 but alsk huge strength requirement. You are not supposed to use it early unless you are paladin who is claass made around shield usage. And having access to special shields.
Because spirit is OP as hell.
I would even suggest to nerf the hell outa spirit before making all shields having 4sox
or give a better use to ist
All pally shields are capable of 4 sockets so they can use spirit at lvl 25. In all fairness all shields should be capable of 4 sockets.
Pally shield special ability isnt all shields have 4 sockets. its allres or damage/ar they just over looked it when they made runewords unless you believe they made it lvl 25 just for 1 class to use (like they did the runeword exile which is for pally shield only) then punish the rest with a huge amount of strength and lvl 54.
Your argument is totally for the mentally challenged to say lets make all unique lvl 1.
With all the changes they have made to balance out the classes you guys are really that worried if they make all shields capable of 4 sockets, that its going to ruin the game. REALLY…
Its a lvl 25 runeword should be able to used at lvl 25 for all classes or just change the lvl to use it to 54.
I think they should open up the Ancient Shield for 4 sockets. It’s still a relatively high strength requirement at 110, and it’s a medium class armor. 156 strength minimum just for a 4 socket shield for any other class is borderline ridiculous.
I think in a game designed around slaying hells minions…it makes sense that paladin has the edge, lol.
I’d suggest the Pavise as well.

Or you could just gigachad and use Rhyme/Ancient’s Pledge in a bone or grim shield till spirit becomes available.

Adding Blade Barrier, Ancient Shield, and Pavise to the list of four socketed shields would mean the following comparisons:
Ancient Shield, 110 Strength, Block Chance: Pal 46% Sorc 36%, lvl 25, 93 Defense
Blade Barrier, 118 Strength, Block Chance Pal 50% Sorc 40%, lvl 51, 163 Defense
Pavise, 133 Strength, Block Chance Pal 54% Sorc 44%, lvl 25, 78 Defense
Monarch, 156 Strength, Block Chance Pal 52% Sorc 42%, lvl 54, 148 Defense
True, Monarch would probably drop out as the shield of choice but adding the above three would give some decent differentiation choices.
If low strength req. is the most important thing, obviously the Ancient Shield will be chosen. However, if you are making a max block build the Pavise is better, 23 more strength, but you save almost three times as much in dex. And if you want higher defense that you get from an Elite shield, the Blade Barrier makes a decent choice over the Ancient Shield or the Pavise, maybe even the Monarch over Pavise if wearing Enigma and going for max block. There is also the fact that the Pavise reduces Run/Walk by 10%, Ancient Shield by 5%, and Blade Barrier/Monarch by 0%.
That would be kind of nice to have three different shield choices for builds using Spirit instead of all of them using Monarch.
Idc. I want the trollnest skin and it doesn’t matter if it needs 103 or 110 str as enigma torch and Anni provide enough for those options anyway
