Best case scenario is something like infinite (or 40++) shared stash tabs and 16 character slots. Hands down. Personal tabs arent needed. Look at Path of Exile, personal tabs are not needed if already there are shared ones. it only brings confusion and problems while muling indeed. This scenario will be the preferred one and the best one for commodity and easy muling and playing.
Second best scenario. Blizzard decides to not give huge number of shared stash. Then as you have said, we prefer something like 1 shared stash (for rapid mule) and huge number of characters and huge number of personal stash on each character. At least 3 per character and at least 25+ characters. Note that each character you use to mule, its one less you will use for playing, so in a six months ladder, barring you are able to use all classes, some alts, etc, low level duels characters if you wish etc, I remember doing something like 16+ characters just for a ladder. So we need another 15-20++ to stash items so lets say 30 characters total.
The worst scenario: the current one, 3 shared stashes and probably (just my intuition here) a low limited number of characters, 8-16 probable I think.
Hallo Leute,
ZAX always moaning about changes. How exactly your option decreases amount of mules ?
On the contrary, it supports them. Because people will be more hoardy. Just think about it.
For Grail support, I’d rather just see an actual UI area that lists all available items, grouped by category, expandable/collapsible, filters for found/not found, and the game tracks which you’ve seen and which you haven’t. No need to actually store the item.
If mods are allowed enough access, I hope someone builds this. Or I might try myself, as I’m a software dev. Never did any original d2 modding though.
Its fine for me , some people simply hoard way to much. What would be amazing is stackable gems and runes or a currency tab, blows my mind how they havent thought of that already all modern arpg have it
i agree with this but we also need to know how many chars we are allowed to make per account.
for example, this would be absolutely fine if blizzard lets us make 100 chars per account
even though you would still get less space i think the added efficiency would be worth it because you would have more than enough chars
but if the limit it to 18 chars you would be 100% correct
Hang on, how is more shared stash vs personal stash tabs a terrible decision? I would think youd prefer shared stash because then it is accessible by every character…
Ideally they should give us both, but if I had to choose between more Personal Tabs vs Shared Tabs, I choose Shared every time.
Also context of the Shared Stash tabs are the replacement of our mule characters, there are no current work arounds to add stash of any kind to each character, so that is likely why you are seeing more shared stash tabs added.
3 is certainly a start, non-casuals will need more.
This decision is better than nothing, though you’re right, they should’ve done 3 personal tabs + 1 shared. The shared tab is for muling/transferring. The personal tabs are for collecting items for that character.
Still better than the alpha iteration though! I.e 3+1 > 1+1
I’d agree with Valmar they should just drop the personal tab and go with all shared stash. Give us 10-20 shared stash and we don’t need a personal stash. A Personal stash just turns all extra character slots into a mule, creating more server issues. They can remove this by giving us 2 shared stashs up front and making us buy more with gold. This can cap out around 20ish.
This helps with the character slot issue, as we won’t be making mules thus all of our slots will be for playing characters.
It doesnt make any sense, people will not be horady just because they will have space, they are horading because they like to collect stuff. I for example always had many mules for certain items well organized.
I dont understand why do you ask how my option will decrease number of mules, i literary explained that in my first post, go read it please
Because shared tab instead of personal tab basicly removes more space from character. Those shared tabs are for all your characters. if you make 18 characters, you will still have only 3 shared tabs+18 normal ones.
If it would be 2 personal+2 shared with 18 characters you will have 36 personal tabs+2 shared tabs. Thats a lot more.
What nothing lol? We had unlimited space on old battle net. Thats not nothing at all.
If I go to old battle net I can store any number of items I want. I am not requesting that, but I am requesting enough space so I am not forced to buy more accounts.
But for what ? In online, the seasons is too short to complete grail list for majority of players. So i doubt you need so much stash unless your primary goal is massive trading. In offline there is chance that mods will fix this for ya, as something like Plugy for D2R comes out.Or even more things You wished for…
I always used to have several account with mules for storage in d2. And I wasnt doing grail. I was trading a lot tho, but i would not say I was even into massive trading. I dont care about Single player. Its not important there as having personal +3 shared is totaly fine for SP. You are not limited by amount of characters you can create there.
Hmm ok I see your point. However I dont think that will happen because of my point about current work arounds, cant increase your personal stash without a mod, but you can make unlimited mules which equate to Shared Stash.
I will wait until the Beta/Game Launch before I really lay into anything, because I am on the, unlimited bandwagon. Unlimited Characters, Unlimited Tabs Shared or Personal.
If I had a choice between unlimited Shared or unlimited Person, I would still pick Shared because then I can access it all the time on any character.
Each ladder season, you collect alot. Not only for your main, but for future builds, and trading.
I personally require around 10-15 mules, ergo I will need that many in Shared Stash tabs.
5 are for gear, some low level, others are for builds, normally a Paly, Nec, Druid down the road in ladder.
Spirit Mule
Insight/Infinity/Enigma bases/rune mule
Fort/Armor ebug socketing mule
Gem cubing mule
Rune cubing mule
CTA mule
Other runeword like HOTO, Weapons, ect mule…
Im at 13 just on this.
Dont tell me I hoard too much, thats all as efficient as I wish to make it, also, dont tell me how to play
im perfectly fine with the 3 shared tabs. its a lot without being excessive. if we can now get a minimum of 100-120 character slots ill be happy but id prefer infinite like the current d2.
Stash space is supposed to be a ressource. The fact, that they give you more space and shared stash tabs, does not mean, that they give up on the whole concept of “space for items is valuable”.
I personally just think, it doesn’t make sense to have 3 shared tabs. Either have shared stash only: 1 tab per character + 3 initial ones or have only personal stash tabs, but one tab for muling.
In the end, 3 tabs are not enough to horde items, neither you need it to mule items. So idk why there 3 shared ones.
Gems/Jewels, Runes, and Charms. It lets you use them on any char without mule hopping. And of course, it also leaves room to set gear there for other chars to use. Room to mule and room to share things - esp Charms. This is not a bad thing to me. Personal take on it of course.
