I play solo. I’m farming NM Meph. I can do a run in 20secs. 4 days now, hundreds of runs. Does this item even drop from this boss? All the online data says it can and does. Am I missing something?

Sounds about right. The odds of NM Mephisto dropping Occulus is around 1 in 3340. Your magic find increases that to about 1 in 1440.
1:3894 chance. This is why it’s foolhardy too specifically hunt for one thing. It’s better to kill something that will produce a lot of stuff you could trade. If you’re capable of hell Andy, definitely do that.
You could also do hell countess for keys. A fair trade would be four keys from her for an Oculus.
I got an Occy yesterday in Nightmare Throne of Destruction from trash mobs (not Baal’s minions). Don’t just kill Meph. Kill the Blood lords and council on his floor too. They also drop good stuff.

While it can be fortuitous to farm Mephisto, I wouldn’t suggest doing so unless you have to.
I would suggest lvling up to lvl 70 and starting hell mode and climbing your way through the acts. Every single mob in hell mode can drop a occy not to mentiom this feels far less tedious and you are more likely to find better items/HR worth trading so you can obtain an occy or better.

i usually get all the important loot from meph within 1 week of farming
i could say it’s a pity timer, but i know it’s just a statistic

Bruh I have 27,600 meph kills logged in my tracker and he’s never dropped me one. And that’s just in d2r, in D2 I killed him ofer 400,000 times and he never dropped occy
If you want to target specific loot then use Silophens D2R drop calculator. Baal on nm is the best boss from a quick glance. The rates on P1:

I used to play like that but I have learned to just play for exp. Stuff will drop. Farm chaos and do baal runs and farm lvl 85 areas and kill as quickly as you can. Stuff will drop.
I still have not got an Oculus to drop. I ended up trading for one… I have seen just about every other good unique, except HoZ and Occy…lol
I still need Tal Armor and Ammy!

Do not, I repeat DO NOT farm for a specific item if you want to enjoy the game. That crap will only make you stressed lol.
I made the mistake to target-farm a Tal’s Amulet in hell Andy with the recommended 366ish MF during the last couple of weeks.
I did get it, sure.
Was it worth the work? Holy fricking hell to the no. I’m pretty sure I’ve lost some of my life expectancy doing that crap.

Dont focus on 1 item, just move on to hell and do other stuff. I wanted occulus too, farm 3 weeks without ever seeing one. Then i switched to my pally and started farming chaos for HRs… guess what… 3 occulus in 2 days. god damn RNG
naw your not missing anything bro I’ve gotten 5 occy but not a single shako. the game is tailored for Bots. and it’s SUPER RNG so Keep at it & hope they improve the drop odds for Humans!
I got 2 Occys in one day, one from Pindle and one from Andy…it is about luck
I found 2 shakos(one eternal and one normaů)…both from andy (she has one of the best chance)
