They made a f2p mobile game, that has f2p mobile game monetisation. D4 is not going to be a f2p mobile game. And yes it’s allready known, that there’s going to be cosmetics only MTX. That’s it.

as long as the game is beatable in just its normal mode to play through the story ill be fine with that and play the game once through, as long as it indeed stays free to play
I did what now? I also never payed for anything in a F2P game. And I don’t say it’s a good thing. But why are people surprised that a f2p mobile game has mtx?

Gameplay is a bit repetitive but that’s Diablo.
I haven’t yet hit that end game phase where I’m purpose grinding X rift to get more currency for upgrades. I can foresee that being where pay walls are introduced.
I’m level 21 and just getting to the first Rift. Game is still ok. Still a bit more sensory notifications than I like, mechanics are simple but still overly complexed, and I am not really a fan of most of the skills it seems, are placement marker based. However, I do like some of the ideas presented, such as playing the game solo, then being able to auto matchmake a party to go into a dungeon or do it solo.

It’s upsetting because I have to basically put the game down now; and it would have been a decent one to get into. There is no point in pushing forward since I will be needing to spend thousands to even compete in challenge rifts or pvp. I will always be the weak player, watching paid players steam roll whatever content I’m doing in PvE even. Whatever group I join for elder rifts, I will be just following the guy who’s steam rolling. Who wants to play as a scrub 24/7 in a game? You have to pay a ton of money and that kills the experience completely.
Rhykker put out a new video talking about the ptw aspects, and how ftp folks can still have fun. I guess there are streamers playing completely ftp, and are dominating pvp currently against whales, and that skill is definitely a determining factor. Just because you pay for power, doesn’t mean you know how to use it.
I seen this in Final Fantasy 14, before even they had paid story skip/level boosters in the game, where people just leveled grinding overworld fates to level cap, then were terrible at playing their class in dungeon and raid content. I would say if you are having fun playing the game itself, don’t let the thoughts of there being whales disrupt that. Then, if it gets to the point where you felt the skill cap vs the ptw cap is causing the game to not be fun, then quit.
Not every game has to be some sort of tail wagging contest competition. Games are meant to be played to have fun in the end. When the fun stops, the playing stops.
Plenty of people reporting that they can have success and fun without spending any money. I guess what it comes down to is… Are you into PVP? Cause if you are, the whales are gonna slap you with their giant… wallets. Since no one sane is into PVP on a game like this, its a non-issue.
Dude dig deeper into immortal’s design. The p2w with legendary gems is absolutely insane. You literally have to pay tens of thousands of dollars to fully max out level 5 legendary gems and maybe more.
It appears to be in the 6 figure range.
Stuff like this is incredibly predatory, not much different than drug dealing. This should continue to have massive backlash and be spoken about loudly.
Just like in Diablo 2, do you need best in slot to beat the game or enjoy it? No, yet you have people willing to pay just the same for best in slot gear in Diablo 2. Otherwise, item selling sites wouldn’t be in business. In Diablo 2, it could take years for a self found player to build the wealth and power that someone could in minutes by taking out their credit card. Does that make the game any less fun for the solo found player? Not really, as the fun is the journey.
People are whining and making a mountain out of a molehill. Just like in Diablo 2, find people who are of like mind and run with them. You have to make friends that you can trust. Sound familiar in the whole PK/Personal Loot arguments?
