How hard is it to get a seat in the main convention hall to watch community night?
Will I have to stand in line hours early to get a seat? I’ve never been before, so I have no idea what people have to do to get a seat. I really want to see the cosplay competition , so if it’s unlikely I’ll be able to watch it live in the convention hall, that will be a huge drawback.
As it’s being held in a different area than all the previous times no one can really know. Previously, it’s been held in a much bigger area so this time the seats may fill up much more quickly. All the panels are being held in the Arena so could someone stay in their seat all day? Specially if they are with other people. Some people could ensure their seat is taken up by a member of their group all day. In short one could imagine a scenario where it will be very difficult to get a seat!
As was already said, in the past the main stage took up an entire hall and the only limiting factor was fire safety protocols, it wasn’t to hard to get in as long as you didnt wait until the last minute. The arena seats maybe 1/5 of the hall’s capacity and I believe that getting into the arena is going to be next to impossible, not just for the community night events but also any WoW panels, Diablo 4 panels, and the closing ceremonies.
The move from the hall to the arena is a baffling one to me and could potentially be an unmitigated disaster. I pay to attend in person, not to watch it on a screen from the next hall over. For reference, this will be my 14th Blizzcon.
I’ve been dreaming of attending Blizzcon for more than a decade, and this will be my first Blizzcon in person. Considering the effort that attending to this event means to me (economically and logistically), I’m fearing this new distribution will mean long queues for the arena, or watch things in a big screen instead of in person.
tbh, I’m actually wondering if it’ll even be that difficult this year to get a seat. Feels like general fan-interest isn’t particularly as high as previous years (I’ve purchased tickets to every BlizzCon) based off how long it took to actually sell out; really feels like supply has finally met demand. Previous years this forum and the subreddit would be swamped with posts venting frustration about not getting tickets and blaming bots. Now? It’s a ghost town.
