Wrong Version yet it launches current Version

I don’t know if this is a glitch or a bug of some kind, but ever since the last update of the desktop launcher, I get an error that reads as follows:

“We’ve detected a newer version of Battle.Net than the one you’re attempting to launch. You may need to fix your shortcuts.”

Then it allows me to click to launch from the current version.

According to file properties, my last update of the launcher was 03/03/2024. No updates are being offered to get rid of the annoying little nag popup. My version is 2.29.0.14647

It’s not keeping me from playing but it is getting annoying.

Delete the shortcut and re-add it? Just sounds like it’s linking to old data still in the Bnet folder.

Then you are using an wrong / outdated version… the current version is less than a week old and is version 2.31.0.14792

We had this issue last February; solutions include either:

  • Switch to the Beta version, then switch back to the normal version to install the newest version of Battle.Net, or
  • Manually download a new version of Battle.Net – there’s a link in the top right of this forum.
