Windows Battle.net BLZBNTBNA00000005 error occurs on Mac

My Linux friends are having the same problem and can’t run the game.
I’m having the same problem and can’t play Diablo 2.
Is there any way to fix this on Mac?
I’m running Battle.net on Winery and I’ve been getting this error since yesterday.

Mac has its own forum. Desktop App Mac Tech Support

But the Mac App doesn’t allow to run Diablo 2, while windows app wrapped by Wine does. Or should I say, it used to.
Same here, yesterday I was able to run Diablo 2 on Mac, today I’m not

Hello. I am also having this issue on Linux. The same error code, etc. I’ve reinstalled Battle.net and have navigated through several Wine versions.

First, it seems Proton will not even allow Battle.net to install. But if I use the default wine configuration, it will install. However, when it gets to the login screen, it starts giving debug errors and crashes.

I swap to the Proton and run the Battle.net app I installed using the Wine config and it launches and I am able to login, but nothing works inside of the app. It shows “Battle.net Update agent went to sleep. Attempting to wake it up…”, but it never wakes up.

Try Proton 10.0-1 (Beta) that should get rid of the agent went to sleep issue.

Or, remove the most recent version of Battle.net’s folder (I forget the number) if that is possible. That also seems to solve the problem.

The person is running Battle.net as a Windows app using Winery on a Mac. It is not a Mac Battle.net issue, it’s a Windows issue. It’s the only way to run Diablo II on a Mac. I am in the same boat, but using Crossover, which uses Wine as well. It’s affecting Linux users and some Windows users, as well. It is not a Mac problem, so please treat it as a system-wide problem instead and answer our concerns. This is BS.

But the core system is Mac. It doesn’t matter though, as Linux and emulating Windows are not supported by Blizzard.

The same problem. Blizzard created a launcher that can’t launch the games.
