Hey. So when I came there my main objective was to focus on making a thread about critical bugs however we got alot of critical bugs fixed already and we also received a balance patch - I didn’t expected that patch at all.
In general Orcs were much stronger than Humans and it wasn’t a secret - it’s just literally the same race under different sprite with very few differences like different spells in mage arsenal of each race. And let’s be honest the mage arsenal was different but pretty well balanced.
The main issue of balance was… Orcs when they researched bloodlust for their Ogre Mages. This spell changed the course of the game no matter how much better you was than your opponent so most of the people (actually everybody on private servers) prefered playing Orcs over Humans. In the recent patch Bloodlust was nerfed and Knight was a bit buffed which is good change - they still have different spells but now they are almost balanced… I would say Ogre Mages still has still a very slight advantage over Paladins but it’s ok now. You can’t have perfect balance if the units has different spells and atleast now it’s fun to play both of them .However I want to ask why Human Mages range for Blizzard spell was nerfed from 12 to 10? It’s literally the Death Knight clone. The main problem of the game wasn’t the balance in general as every faction was nearly the same but the problem was Ogre Mages being much better than Paladins. Only this - which has been already fixed. Human Mage nerf was totally unecessary as now we are moving from one issue to another when selecting a race.
Summarizing: The Orcs only needed nerf on Ogre Mage to make it more equal to Paladins. Humans didn’t needed nerf for Mages as everything else was balanced. Balance patch is still good, I prefer new balance than old one where bloodlust was everywhere but nerfing Mages wasn’t really necessary.
