WC2 audio issues

Hi,

I’m getting some audio crackling. It happens every time the game loads into a different thing. What I mean by that is it happens when I boot up the game and see the main menu, when I load/restart a mission, or when I finish a mission and get to the score screen.

Is it possible to fix?

i am able to save just fine. let us now try to help the original poster: the sound crackling sounds like an incompatible sound setting. select sound settings and click on the advanced tab. there you can select various sound qualities. i have selected: 24 bit 48000 hz(studioquality). that works perfectly for me at the very least so, that should work perfectly for you as well. if it does not, you will just have to test various settings until the problem is solved.

Thanks for your replies. Sound resolution is already at 48/24.

different sound cards have different capabilities. you just need to find a setting compatible with both your sound card and with warcraft 2. as i do not know what sound card you have, i can not give you anything but general information.

I would advise you to upgrade your audio driver.
Warcraft 2 is not highend technology so it should runs smoothly, even without real soundcard.

Try IObit Driver Booster it might help if you don’t know how to do it yourself.

except that most sound cards only have one driver. though graphics cards also comes with sound cards these days and those drivers can updated together with the graphics driver but, only way to use it is to connect it to the monitor and then either use the monitor`s internal speakers(if they have them) or connect your speakers to the monitor.

You are wrong.
Most sound cards comes with unified drivers regularly updated, whatever it is, Creative SoundBlaster or Realtek, there is constantly updates.

Driver Booster have it all and can detect your hardware but you can update it manually by visiting your real soundcard manufacturer and download the exact driver of your soundchip.

In last resort Go DL LatencyMon, it will help you test your PC and warn you if you have unstable performance.
