Also found out that it was a permissions issue. If you canāt launch from the Battle.net launcher just open as admin. I set both .exe files in the battle.net folder to open as admin and no more errors. Hope this helps.
I confirm! Thanks bro worked for me too. I did those two steps, then i kept battle.net open and start the game from the ModernWarfare.exe and it works perfect!
Hello everybody, for those who are unable to play even with all those fixes like me, this is how i fixed the issues
"This does not make any sense, but HOW I FIXED IT AFTER THREE HOURS of infinite Scan/repair loops, broken error messages, life questioning and dev errors:
- Go to C/Games/Call of Duty Modern Warfare, right click ModernWarfare.exe and Modern Warfare Launcher, Settings and then Properties and set them to always start as admin.
- Now locate your Battle.net folder and do the same to the Battle.net.exe and Battle.net.exe Launcher. Make sure that these files are not just shortcuts.
- Now go back to C/Games/Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Go in to Data/data
- Order the files by size and delete all 0 or 1 kb data files, called like data.256, data.257 and so forth. Make sure you only delete those by 0 or 1 kb size. I had around 20 of those but it varies.
- Restart Battle.net through Battle.net.exe and watch how that hideous Update button turns to a beatiful Play button and Voila

@Sharden, mine was broken again this morning. Different issue, but broken.
However, I got it to launch from battle.net when I removed the additional command line argument for DirectX. Are you using that command also? Try disabling it?

It was a permission issue for me as well.
I went to the folders in file explorer and made the MW .exe files both run as admin for all users.
As well as the battle.net launcher folder to have those .exe files to run as admin for all users.
problem solved.
Can also confirm - opening file in explorer and running as admin worked for me.
This problem started yday for me also (12/15/21).

Guys, I had the same issue and this video is the ONLY thing that worked for me.
He explains 2 options. I tried the second option and deleted the files as instructed. After I opened battle net it was scanning and failed again! But dont worry, just force close battlenet one last time and once I reopened it again it WORKED!

The launcher is wrongly linked. In explorer its linked to the MW.exe. Open the folder and click the WAR ZONE.exe and it works.
for PC players I had to click top left of the blizzard app then update from there hope it helps someone
