Warzone update error

every time I tried to update warzone it gave me. whoops! Looks like something broke, you could try restarting launcher/battle.net. I tried to restart battle.net but nothing changed.
After a few tries, I got it to manage to update but after 2min it gave the same error.

error code: BLZBNTAGT00000960.

Same problem here then I tried a couple suggestions and now I get a different error…

So frustrating. I have had the issue for months now with no solution.

Scanning right now…

Hey all,

Normally the BLZBNTAGT00000BB8 and BLZBNTAGT00000960 errors are caused by similar reasons. Permissions, damaged files, interfering programs, or a connection issue. I’m not sure what all was tried but the following should normally help fix or narrow down the cause.

Let’s see if creating and switching to a new Administrator Account helps. This sets many settings to defaults and also helps with permission problems, so can be useful to do even if you’re using an admin account already.

A thorough step to make sure the Battle.net application is not causing a problem is to uninstall it combined with removing all temporary and hidden folders. Some of these can linger even after a uninstall so the steps can help even if a reinstall was done:

  1. Uninstall the application
  2. Press Windows key + R and type in %temp%
  3. Delete anything related to Blizzard or Battle.net
  4. Do the same for %programdata%, %localappdata%, %appdata%
  5. Reinstall the application. A fresh installer should be downloaded for this

The next idea may be awkward for some but it’s to reinstall the game. When doing so, make sure the Call of Duty folder where the game was installed is deleted entirely. This way we ensure no files linger that may be damaged and not removed with the uninstall.

Lastly is to try an alternative connection like a friend’s or neighbor’s wifi. A mobile hotspot or tether can also work for testing purposes. If this is found to work, then see if switching back to the normal connection works. If so, then it was just bad cached data. If it persists though, then power cycle or factory reset of the network devices should be explored along with contacting the ISP.
