Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition Stuck Verifying CD Keys

I’ve contacted Blizzard Support a couple times about this issue and have received back very little information in response. Within the last few days I’ve been unable to connect to Battle.net in Warcraft II. The client says that it is “verifying CD keys,” but gives me an error minutes later, stating that “Battle.net is not responding…” and suggesting that I try again later. I have verified my CD keys are correct several times, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and checked Blizzard’s troubleshooting guide for these types of connection issues in classic games.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I am having the exact same issue, starting on August 19th. Goes from verifying CD key, to “Battle.net is not responding. Please try connecting again in a few minutes.”

It has been days of the same issue. Please, update if you find a solution.

It feels like battle.net is down, but my games on my battle.net desktop app still work like starcraft and starcraft 2. Look like it is just Warcraft 2 on GOG.

Warcraft 2 is connecting to the old gateways (US west/east, asia, europe) just fine. It’s just GoG’s gateway that is down, meaning their staff has to reboot their service or whatever. You’re not going to get any GoG server related issues answered over here; only their staff can do anything about it.

If you have the original cd copy of War2bne, you can use that to play on the old gateways, at least until the GoG gateway is running again.
